Akropolis i Aten (gammalgrekiska: ἡ Ἀκρόπολις τῶν Ἀθηνῶν, romaniserat: hē Akropolis tōn Athēnōn; modern grekiska: Ακρόπολη Αθηνών, romaniserat: Akrópoli Athinón) är ett antikt citadell som ligger på en klippa ovanför staden Aten, Grekland, och innehåller resterna av flera antika byggnader av stor arkitektonisk och historisk betydelse, den mest kända är Parthenon.
Herodes Atticus Odeon är en fantastisk stenteater som ligger på den sydvästra sluttningen av Akropolis i Aten. Byggd 161 e.Kr. av den romerske senatorn Herodes Atticus till minne av sin fru, var den ursprungligen täckt med ett trätak och kunde rymma cirka 5 000 åskådare. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative. She stopped many times to let us rest and in the shade which helped a lot in the heat!

Incredible and informative tour of Greece's iconic sites. Our guide Yiannis was perfect. He provided the right amount of information (not too arcane or overwhelming) at the right moments and ensured we stopped in shaded areas for relief from the heat and humidity. He also kept a good pace and was conscious of the older guests in our group. A must-do when in Athens.

Our guide Marina was amazing. This tour is an absolute must for anyone who wants to learn about Acropolis and Greece. Be ready for the heat and slippery marble floors and stairs (especially on top of the hill).
Annie was our tour guide. She was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable of the history of Greece and the Acropolis and Agora. Highly recommend her as a Guide. Make sure you bring extra water with you as it is a long walking tour and in July, very hot at this time of year.
My first visit to the Acropolis 11 years ago was in Aoril, easy, fairly smooth, no crowds, not so in July 2026. Even trying to go early was a challenge since a computer malfunction bunched all the preceding (7 am-8 am) groups together with the slightly later tours. Walking is very treacherous climbing up, and with 4 hours of groups together at the entrance, I believe Hieronymus Bosch would have been quite pleased! Of course, the Acropolis is stunning, but unless you can move around, the experience is very Iimited. By the way, our experience might have been more enhanced by having seen the Acropolis Museum before the climb.
It was a long walk back. We were unaware we had to figure out how to get back from the Agora on our own. Our guide was very knowledgeable and could answer any question. We give her an A+++ rating. The wind and her lanyard would cause static in the microphone sometimes. She was quick to fix it when alerted to the static. The cold water we took was a lifesaver. We each had 32 ounces of ice water and could have used more. We went early and the crowds were manageable. After 4 1/2 hrs of walking and climbing, it would have been nice to have a small bus take us back to the starting point. Make this clear in the description.
