ATT MÖTA VÅR GUIDE. Din guide kommer att vänta på Makrygianni Street vid Akropolis tunnelbanestation som ligger precis runt hörnet från Akropolis huvudentré. Vår mötesplats ger ett idealiskt perspektiv för att se den omgivande muren av Akropolis byggd av den tidigare mykenska civilisationen och för att ge dig en introduktion till Akropolis historia, dess betydelse och roll i det antika Greklands liv, och en översikt över templen och fantastiska monument du är på väg att se.
Fortfarande i ett gott skick av bevarande, ett av våra första stopp är den antika teatern DIONYSUS. Byggd på 300- och 500-talet f.Kr. i en naturlig amfiteater på sluttningarna av Akropolis skulle den ha haft en imponerande kapacitet på 25 000, och anses vara världens äldsta. Fantastiskt att tänka på att många av de mest kända antikens grekiska pjäser skulle ha haft sina ursprungliga premiärer här!
Stig upp mot den monumentala porten (Propylaia) och ingången till Akropolis. När templen på Akropolis kommer till synen, skulle de gamla grekerna ha hälsats av en enorm dekorerad bronsstaty av gudinnan Athena. Som legenden säger kunde spetsen på hennes upprätthållna spjut ses av inkommande fartyg i solljuset.
Byggt runt 420 f.Kr., och ett av de tidigaste templen på Akropolis, var detta klassiska joniska tempel tillägnat gudinnan Athena och är till stor del restaurerat, med en framträdande plats med utsikt över staden.
Höjdpunkten av den klassiska Greklands gyllene tidsålder, detta tempel var ett oöverträffat mästerverk av konst, arkitektur och ingenjörskonst, såväl som hjärtat av antikens grekiska ceremoni och tillbedjan i Aten. Vi tar tid på detta viktigaste tempel med en översikt över dess konstruktion, mytologi och historiska betydelse.
Akropolis näst största tempel, Erechtheion, var tillägnad både Zeus och gudinnan Aten och din guide kommer att belysa några av dess underbara mytologi och huvudaspekter som dess imponerande statyer som du nu kommer att se i museet.
Byggd år 161 e.Kr. av Herodes Atticus till minne av sin fru, denna fantastiska marmoramfiteater fortsätter som en fungerande teater till idag.

Evie was a great guide and took her time answering all our questions and allowed us to experience the acropolis at a pace that was comfortable. Our group ranged from 10 years Old to 85 years old and found this was an informative way to experience the acropolis

This was the best tour EVER! One of the highlights of our week in Greece! We went to the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora. Our tour guide, Michael, was absolutely fantastic. Michael was incredibly knowledgeable-and hilarious!! As a history buff, I love learning the details, but I know history can feel dry for some people. Not with Michael! He brought the stories to life, kept us engaged the entire time, and had us laughing throughout the tour. We had so much fun getting to know him while learning about Greece’s rich history. I’ve been on several private tours throughout Europe, and this was by far my favorite-largely because of Michael. If you’re visiting Athens, do yourself a favor and book this tour with Michael.
