Det är det största och äldsta av de sex museerna under administration av Ghana Museums and Monuments Board som öppnades den 5 mars 1957 av hertiginnan av Kent, Princess Marina. ..Föremål i arkeologiavdelningen sträcker sig från stenåldersperioden till det nära historiska förflutna. De som har en permanent utställning på det etnografiska galleriet inkluderar hövdingens regalier, inhemska ghananska musikinstrument, guldvikter, pärlor, traditionella textilier, pallar och keramik. Det finns även föremål från andra afrikanska länder som förvärvats genom utbyte. Exempel är Senufo-masker från Elfenbenskusten, Zulu-träfigurer och pärlor från södra Afrika. Dessutom finns det gamla Ife-bronshuvuden från Nigeria och Bushongo-sniderier från Kongo. Utställningarna på det lilla men imponerande konstgalleriet består huvudsakligen av samtida ghananska målningar utförda i oljor, pasteller, akryl, akvareller och collage. Förutom dessa finns det skulpturer i olika medier.

Independence Arch i Accra, Ghana, är en del av Independence Square som innehåller monument över Ghanas självständighetskamp, inklusive Independence Arch, Black Star Gate och Liberation Day Monument.
Center for National Culture är den största hantverksmarknaden i landet.. du får handla souvenirer bland stånden och fynda på Center for National Cultures hantverksmarknad.. ta lite extra trummor och andra lokala instrumentella lektioner från med lokalbefolkningen ..
Vandring i historiska Jamestown, ett av de äldsta distrikten i Accra. Besök de två stora kolonialtidens forten i gamla Accra, James Fort och Ussher Fort.
Detta är hemmet, biblioteket och den sista viloplatsen för den amerikanskfödde korsfararen för social rättvisa, William Edward Burghardt DuBois... Du Bois Center är ett bibliotek för att fira den bortgångne W.E.B DuBois. Labadi Beach eller mer korrekt känd som La Pleasure Beach är den mest trafikerade stranden på Ghanas kust. Det är en av Accras vackra stränder och underhålls av lokalbefolkningen..en plats att koppla av och sitta på efter en solig svettig rundtur i Accra..den här platsen erbjuder olika slags lokala, kontinentala och internationella maträtter och drycker..det är här vår turné slutar..

We had the best experience exploring Accra with Kwame Tours! Everything from booking to communications was smooth and easy. The tour was well planned and filled with meaningful stops like the Osu Castle, Independence Square and the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum where we really felt the history and pride of Ghana. Our tour guide, Clinton, and the driver were amazing! So friendly and knowledgeable and fun to be around. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and learned a lot. This tour made our visit to Accra truly unforgettable. Highly recommend Kwame Tours if you want to experience the real heart of the city.

I took two tours with Kwame. First I did the Accra City tour with Clinton. He was such a warm, knowledgeable guide who went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent time and got to experience everything we wanted to see. When we shared that we wanted to see the beach. He even made sure we stopped at a beach stop on the water for lunch. He was exceptional. Later that week, I took the botanical gardens, coco farm and ATV tour with Daniel. Who was equally as outstanding. Riding the ATVs was so much fun and I felt so safe, even though this was my first time doing this. After interacting with both guides, I can only conclude that Kwame tours is the best and makes sure everyone they hire the passion for the work is evident. Daniel, even compiled sent a custom video of us riding on the ATVs so we would have it later for the memories of our trip. If I had more days in Ghana, I would I booked more tours with them. I just ran out of time and had to return home.

We had an incredible tour with Clinton! He took us to the National Museum, the Kwame Nkrumah Museum, the art shops, Independence Square, and Labadi Beach. He was knowledgeable and excellent! A must book!!

We had a mostly wonderful experience on the Accra Detailed City Tour. Clinton, our tour guide, was truly exceptional—warm, welcoming, and attentive to my family. He made us feel at ease throughout the day and skillfully navigated interactions with vendors, always advocating for fair and respectful exchanges. We especially enjoyed our dinner at Labadi Restaurant, where we had meaningful conversations about everyday life in Accra and the U.S.—a highlight that added depth to the experience. That said, we were dismayed by the lack of upfront communication regarding itinerary changes. We toured on a Sunday and were simply told the city would be "calm." However, key sites like the W.E.B. DuBois Museum, and Makola Market were closed—something that was never mentioned in advance. These were locations we were especially looking forward to, so it was a real letdown to find them excluded. Had we been notified in advance, we would have simply selected the next day. We’d still recommend this tour—particularly because of Clinton’s outstanding guidance—but with one caveat: If any part of the itinerary is subject to change based on the day of the week, that should be clearly communicated beforehand so travelers can plan accordingly or adjust expectations.

The tour was very educational. The only downside is the fact that the driver was late and the vehicle used with 3 adults in the back was very small and cramped. We were not able to get to the last place because we started late. Time is of the essence and a more comfortable vehicle would be nice. Other than that, Clinton our tour guide was great. He is very knowledgeable.
