**We actually did the 9 day Northern Circuit Kilimanjaro trip. This was such a great experience on so many levels. It was just my husband, my son and I and the guides and porters. Communication and booking was straight forward and easy, Edwin was wonderful, the information was easily accessible, they were responsive and helpful, and the value was unbelievable. We wanted to go with a local company and so glad we did! An expedition like this though doesn’t come together without the guides and crew. Our guides Chuewa and Hatibu were top notch. I can’t say enough good things about them. Professional, experienced, and great leaders (a combination of slowing us down and pushing when needed), and they assembled the best crew of porter’s and support team I can imagine. I couldn’t have dreamed this to be a better experience at a better price. Deep gratitude to the whole team!
I wanted to climb Kilimanjaro on my own, in just a few days and on a limited budget. After a lot of research, I chose Taste of Kilimanjaro and it turned out to be the perfect choice. Edwin helped me personalize my trip, always responding quickly and providing clear and detailed information. The team that accompanied me—a guide and four porters—took incredible care of me and made me feel like part of the family. They transformed what could have been a difficult adventure into one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Every member of the team went above and beyond to meet my needs, often before I even had to ask. Highly recommended, and thank you from the bottom of my heart. I truly hope to see you again soon.
As a solo female traveller, I felt completely supported and safe throughout my private Kilimanjaro trek. Communication before the tour was friendly and responsive, and the service was highly personalised—from the moment I landed to my departure, Edwin and Frank ensured everything ran smoothly. My guide, Chuwa, was outstanding: experienced, wise and easy-going. The cook, Yusuph, prepared fresh, delicious meals every day, and the porters—Joseph, Ally, Alhaji and Issimail—were respectful, helpful and fun. One area for improvement would be clearer communication about a number of things: 1) explaining the toilets on the trail (they are latrines and can be very dirty) and potential to hire a private toilet; 2) send recommended gear in advance; 3) explain that unless requested, the client will be eating in the same tent that is the sleeping quarters of the porters. While I didn't mind it, others might feel uncomfortable. Overall, it was a memorable and well-organised experience. I highly recommend them!
My father and I decided on an adventure in Tanzania. My father is 79 years old and this was a big dream of his. Our goal was to climb with a local tour company (as a lot of tours are owned outside of Tanzania). This particular tour company was recommended and we decided to book our trip. Our goal was to climb Kilimanjaro in 8 days on the Lomosho trail and then after the climb do a safari. Upon landing in Kilimanjaro, the internet at the airport crashed and we couldn’t get our visas for over three hours, our plane was already late an hour upon arrival. Edwin and Frank were patiently waiting for us outside the airport and greeted us with huge smiles and immediately we felt like we were in good company and would be well taken care of during our trip. Edwin set us up with our climbing team, with lead guide Chuwa, and assistant guide Stephen. They took us up the mountain with our 6 porters and cook Joseph. The food was awesome, home cooked and always wholesome ingredients, with many tastes of African home cooking. We had snacks and popcorn on the mountains for breaks. We were never hungry or thirsty the whole time. The service exceeded our expectations. Chuwa was a master leader on the mountain and he and his team got myself and my father to the summit. Coming down the mountain was a challenge for my father, and Chuwa’s team was amazing at helping him, beyond words and gratitude. My father had some medical complications after the climb and Edwin and Frank were there to help with grace and expertise in Moshi and Arusha. We managed a safari for one day and our guide was Hafidh was a professional at his task and answered all of our questions about Africa, the culture, the people, the animals, the trees and flowers, we tried to stump him, but couldn’t. I can’t recommend Edwin and his Taste of Kilimanjaro tour company enough or even thank them enough to get us through our trip safely with grace and kindness. If you’re thinking about this tour company you won’t be disappointed, they handled everything, the good and the bad. This will always be a lifetime achievement for myself and my 79 year old father. Thank you again, Edwin, Frank, Chuwa and Hafidh!
We had an amazing safari with Taste of Kilimanjaro! Their planning and communication were flawless from start to finish. A special thank you to Edwin, the programme organiser, for ensuring everything ran smoothly and without incident. With their thoughtful gestures and expert advice, they truly made this trip—planned for a milestone birthday—extraordinary. As a group of six, we completed the 8-Day Lemosho Route in February 2025, which went exceptionally well. Our journey to Kilimanjaro was incredible, particularly thanks to our three guides, Max, Tom, and Champion. Bayo was an excellent chef, and all of the porters were fantastic too. They are the true heroes who enable everyone to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro. If you’re considering booking a Kilimanjaro trekking trip, I highly recommend Taste of Kilimanjaro. They exceeded all expectations, and this experience will remain with us forever! Thank you all for making this remarkable experience possible.
