We had a group of nine friends so we had the boat all to ourselves. And the best part of the trip, at least for me, was that we got to Delos before anybody else. We spent nearly an hour on the island without anyone else around. We could look at whatever we wanted to. We were the only ones in the museum and basically got a private tour from the curator. It was fabulous. When the crowds started arriving, we were pretty getting ready to leave, although I think you could spend all day on Delos searching through all the different things that island has to offer. How many times are you ever going to get a UNESCO world heritage site all to yourself? For me that was the biggest win of this particular excursion. After leaving Dallas, we went and anchored for relaxing, swimming, and some wonderful pasta. Heading back to the port, we did some sailing maneuvers to give us a taste of what real sailing might be like. We also round up in an unexpected boat race with a friend of Captain Bob’s. She’s the only female captain working out of Mykonos. She was traveling lighter than we were, so she beat us back to Port. We were the last sailing in October and that afternoon captain Bob was headed to sea with the destination of Italy. He was a very fun and engaging host, I enjoyed speaking with him about his experiences as a tour operator, which I always find very interesting. It’s a great tour and the Delos early arrival is certainly worth it. If I had any advice, it would be to try to organize a group of 10 before you book it so that you make sure you get people that are interested in the same things you are. In other words, you may not want to be on a party cruise and somebody might try to turn it into that. Overall, I’d highly recommend this excursion.
What a SPECTACULAR sailing experience! Truly the highlight of our Greek Islands vacation. Costas and his crew were amazing, the food was delicious and OMG the views and sea!
An absolute must do! If you are looking for a quieter excursion with less people this is it. The Captain and his mates knew their knowledge, were helpful, and also knew how to have fun. We were lucky enough to have a lot of wind this day. We were allowed to ride up front on the way back when we were sailing. Let me tell you, WOW! This was an absolute blast and a true once in a lifetime experience. Thank you so much to the crew that had fun with us and allowed us the opportunity to make this surreal.
Fantastic trip! Highly recommend. It's a nice blend of historic activities and relaxation on the water. Lunch was well prepared and delicious - they even had gluten free pasta for me. Super nice boat crew and captain. Excellent communication before the trip.
It was a wonderful trip. The extremely professional staff the delicious eating. It is a must to do this excursion
Beautiful! Great staff, amazing lunch and lots of fun! Suitable for families or couples who also want to know the history of Mykonos!
The best excursion we ever had in Mykonos. The boat and staff are highly trained and professional..we had an amazing time along with great food and music..
What a trip! You couldn’t have asked for a better day! This trip was exactly as advertised. There were 9 of us on the boat, and Captain Bob and Ernest’s attention to detail made this trip extra special! We arrived in Delos before the crowds and the allotted time was perfect. We sailed to Rhenia and had plenty to time to swim and enjoy the beautiful water. Lunch was superb. Captain Bob then sailed us on picturesque route back to Mykonos. Just a perfect day!
Bob and his crew were absolutely outstanding- very accommodating and friendly. Food was delicious and we had the best time exploring the islands and swimming. Would highly recommend.🙂
Just incredible... a must do... the two men of the crew are just adorable and warm.. the lunch really excellent... no negative point apart from not being able to go to the island of Delos because access was closed... Go with your head down...
