Detta är den djupaste sjön i området, dess djup är 97 m djup och täcker 4,2 km kvadratkilometer. Det är resultatet av den vulkaniska aktiviteten och dess ungefär 250 000 år gammal. Sjön är 75% i Tanzania och 25% Kenya. Det finns mycket bra natur man kan hitta runt sjön från berggrunden som är resultatet av den vulkaniska aktiviteten. Sjön är också hem för unika fåglar och fiskar som bara kan hittas på denna sjö i världen.

Very well organized day. Walk with explanations and time to chat. Janie kayaks and meets the fishermen. Everything in a very friendly and friendly atmosphere. The drive is extremely pleasant with Jon, we talk, listen to the music and stop to enjoy the scenery without any constraints. Everything is very friendly. I have very fond memories.

I went on this very well organized day trip to lake Chala with Peter and Elly and it didn't disappoint. Throughout the day, we hiked to the different viewpoints to admire the views over the lake, walked through a beautiful river bed and kayak / swim in the lake. We saw baboons, Comodos and even an eagle going around their daily life on the shores of the lake. I highly recommend taking this trip while you're in Moshi!
We were a group of 4, who went on a tour organised by Peter. The whole day was a really enjoyable experience, and Peter went out of his way to make sure our needs were met from start to finish. The day initially commenced with a short hike to some viewpoints, followed by visiting a dry river bed - these were great places for some group photos and it was a beautiful day so Kilimanjaro was visible too! The guide was extremely knowledgeable and could answer all of our questions about the lake and surrounding areas. After lunch (which catered for any dietary requirements), we kayaked on the lake. We were under absolutely no time pressure and could enjoy the lake at our leisure, as well as taking any group photos along the way. Our whole group enjoyed the trip immensely and it was excellent value for money. Thanks Peter! Would recommend as a lovely day trip to anyone with a free day in the Moshi/Kilimanjaro area!
Lake Chala surprises above all expectations. My friend and I spent a whole day at this beautiful place, where you can go kayaking, go on a hike or enjoy a cold Kilimanjaro beer with a good view. We had Peter as our guide, which only made the day more enjoyable. As a guide, Peter is really sweet and funny, but also very professional and he was able to tell the history about the place. Also, the lunch was really good and there was a vegetarian option! I can highly recommed going to Lake Chala with Terry Adventure and Safaris :)
