I recently embarked on this four-hour horseback riding adventure in Nuwara Eliya, and overall, I'd rate the experience around an 80%. It was clear that safety was a top priority, while also ensuring participants could enjoy themselves to the fullest. The safety measures were noteworthy: each rider had a dedicated guide walking alongside them, plus an additional person following in a car, which was quite reassuring. This level of attention made me feel very secure throughout the journey. On the other hand, the actual riding experience involved a fair amount of time on public roads with traffic. As a result, the guides often led the horses, meaning the opportunities to ride independently were somewhat limited. While this was understandable given the environment, it did mean less free-rein riding than I might have anticipated. However, the route itself was a highlight. We were guided to scenic spots like the Eagle Viewpoint, which I likely wouldn't have discovered on my own. These unique locations certainly added value to the excursion. In summary, it was a good experience, but four hours might have been a bit long for the type of riding involved. Nevertheless, the dedication to safety and the chance to see some beautiful views made it worthwhile.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're glad to hear you appreciated the strong focus on safety and enjoyed the scenic highlights like Eagle Viewpoint — it's truly one of our favorite spots as well! We understand your point about the time spent on public roads and the limited opportunities for free-rein riding. As you mentioned, these precautions are in place to ensure the safety of both riders and horses, especially in mixed-traffic areas. That said, your feedback is valuable, and we’ll certainly consider it when reviewing route options and experience structure going forward. We're happy you found the journey worthwhile overall, and we hope to welcome you back for more tailored adventures in the future.
