4-timmars marknadsbesök och traditionell matlagningsworkshop i Palma

Beskrivning

Deborah not only offers a fantastic tour of the market with many interesting insights into Mallorcan culture and cuisine, but also a truly wonderful and personal cooking class. Down-to-earth, really easy-to-make, and delicious recipes. I would gladly return in another season!
Josef was a great tour guide through the market and explained the history of the food and the sustainable lifestyle as generations have changed. It was interesting to learn about the evolution of food practices. We then headed to the cooking space in a beautiful old building that was well appointed for our experience. In our small group of five guests we were given instruction on what we cooked and he made it enjoyable. We prepared a simple meal including a flatbread appetizer with zucchini, carmelized onions and olive tapenade, a main dish to the region made with pork and vegetables, and a pie crust type pocket with apricot jam. After the preparation, Josef served our lunch with simple dry white wine. It was a great way to spend an afternoon. Highly recommend. Note to go early if you want to shop at the mercat d’Olivar as it will be closed after the conclusion of the event.
A wonderful and truly authentic experience. I loved the way the guide linked the cuisine to the history and daily life of the local market. Everything felt personal, was clearly explained and was done with great care. Highly recommended if you want to experience something different, like to see Mallorca from the inside.
We expected more from our cooking class for the price we paid. We hoped to cook some fish and meat but we cooked a basic vegetable stew with eggs. The food was good but basic. That was disappointing given that the olive market offered so many different kinds of fish. .
A truly beautiful family experience that we will not forget anytime soon! Even the joint purchase in the market hall in Palma was very special – with many interesting explanations about the Mallorcan products and their origin. Afterwards, cooking together in a traditional way and eating everything together in a relaxed atmosphere was just perfect. So warm, authentic and made with a lot of love – an absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to experience Mallorca culinary!
We had an excellent experience cooking with Jose. We were shown around the market and learned about the local foods and past traditions around food. We then walked to the school where we prepared a traditional Easter meal with the food purchased at the market. Jose was very patient and guided us through all the stages of cooking. We had a great time, lots of laughs. Thank you Jose.
Great! We really liked it.
It was a beautiful morning. Thank you very much
We had a wonderful morning with Deborah, very personable and authentic. She easily passed on her knowledge of the island, Spanish customs and local food to us on the side. The cooking studio, very close to the market, is very nice, rustic, cozy and tasteful. Everything was well prepared, enough space and work material for everyone was available. We were a very nice, mixed troupe and the dishes were understandable to everyone and easy to cook after. Food was delicious, the menu changes according to seasons. We enjoyed it.
Thanks Deborah, we had a very nice culinary course with lots of information about the food culture in Mallorca in a very nice location!
