Vårt första stopp är vid historiska Thermopylae! Med hyllning till kung Leonidas av Sparta och hans 300 spartanska krigare kommer vi att besöka det fantastiska monumentet för hans staty som är fängslande och har chansen att titta på de berömda varma källorna (en av de 7 portarna till Hades)! Vi besöker den arkeologiska platsen och Museum of Delphi, med dess spektakulära samling av artefakter, inklusive Naxian Sphinx, den unika bronssvagnen och Antinoos-statyn. Upptäck Ancient Olympia, födelseplatsen för de gamla olympiska spelen. Du kommer att utforska Mycenae varifrån expeditionen till Troy startade. Gå igenom Nafplio, den första huvudstaden i det moderna Grekland, en pittoresk stad med venetiansk arkitektur som venetierna brukade kalla Greklands Neapel. Bevittna den fantastiska Epidaurus-teatern, konstruerad i slutet av 400-talet f.Kr. för att vara värd för religiösa evenemang för att hedra guden Asclepius och fortfarande används. Ett annat faktum om denna teater är den perfekta akustiken. Under sommaren är det värd för föreställningar av forntida grekiskt drama. Vi kommer att utforska den otroliga arkeologiska platsen i Antik Korint efter St Pauls fotspår. Forntida Diolkos där du upptäcker och utforskar den forntida passagen från Korintian till Saronic viken och den underskyddande bron. Här kan du njuta av ett kaffe eller ett mellanmål på ett underbart kafé medan du beundrar utsikten och väntar på att båtar passerar kanalen. Till sist, Isthmus / Corinth-kanalen som skiljer Peloponnes från det grekiska fastlandet, där du kommer att uppskatta konstruktionen och otroliga vyer över Korintiska och Saroniska viken.

We did a four-day trip to Delphi, Olympia, Nafplion, Mycenae, Epidaurus, and Corinth — and the overall experience was exceptional! The communication before the trip was seamless. George and the entire team were incredibly responsive, helpful, and professional in every step of the planning process, which gave us great confidence and peace of mind going in. The ancient Greek sites took our breath away — we were truly wowed by their beauty, scale, and historical significance. We also learned so much along the way. A huge part of what made this trip so memorable was our amazing driver, Dennis. He is hands down the best driver and guide we’ve ever had. Warm, thoughtful, accommodating, communicative, fun, and extremely knowledgeable — he went above and beyond to take care of us and made the journey both enjoyable and enriching. This has been one of our best travel experiences ever, exploring the heart of this magnificent land — the cradle of Western civilization. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure in Greece!

The tour we took with Ancient Greece Tours was amazing and we loved everything about it! George, who helped with all the arrangements beforehand was wonderful to work with, so helpful and accommodating, and answered all of my questions and addressed any concerns quickly and thoroughly. Our tour guide Antony was just fantastic. He was so knowledgeable, experienced, engaging, and fun. He really brought history alive and we learned so much from him at every stop of the tour. Our driver was also so nice and friendly! The itinerary was perfect, and covered a wide range of activities and sights, which we thoroughly enjoyed! It combined history, culture, landscape, education, archaeology, and local flavor, all of which we loved. The bus was very comfortable, the hotels were really great (we chose the superior category), the hotel breakfasts and dinners were delicious, and the lunch stops we made during the day were at the most charming restaurants ever. We really appreciated that the accommodations, most of the meals, and all the entrance fees to the sights were included in the tour price since that was very convenient and helpful. I truly cannot say enough glowing things about this tour company and the Classical Greece Tour itself, and I would highly recommend anyone book with them to have an in-depth, fascinating and culturally enriching experience of Greece!

We just completed our four day tour of Greece and had an absolutely wonderful time seeing so many ancient sites! Our tour guide, Tas, Was absolutely fantastic! He provided so much historical background information that helped us appreciate the sites and was very accommodating with all of our needs. We felt like we got to see the real Greece! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone - Well, worth the time and expense! We hope to return soon because we discovered on this trip how much Greece has to offer… History, beaches, beautiful views, and most of all lovely welcoming people!

George was our guide and he was wonderful. My wife is in a wheelchair and George made certain that she saw everything she could and helped in any way possible. He took us to great restaurants and told us about the history of Greece. If you want to see Greece with a local, George is your man. I cannot express how grateful our family was to use Ancient Greece Tours. Five stars is just not enough to express our gratitude.

Fantastic experience with Nikos as our guide. A cold bottle of water at every stop, an easy to follow itinerary, excellent recommendations for lunch and dinner and personal, thoughtful conversation/assistance. Went on the Classical Greece 4 day tour run by Ancient Greece Tours with Tas as our driver/guide. From the very start he made the trip fun and educational, it felt like we were going on a trip with a long time friend. There were cookies and water waiting for us in the car, which was a very comfortable and new sedan - perfect for the 2 of us. Of course we visited all of the amazing ancient sites (UNESCO heritage) that the Peloponnese peninsula has to offer and Tas primed us with lots of facts on the ancient greeks and for each specific location making sure we didn’t miss anything e.g. the site where the Olympic flame is lit in ancient Olympia before passing to Athens. In addition Tas took us to places we would never have found on our own and which had their own special magic. We went to thermal springs and bought delicious Turkish delight from the side of the road. We found an ancient limestone roadway with ruts from chariot wheels still visible. We added visits to the Archimedes museum (Olympia) and wine tasing (Nemea) to the itinerary. He took us to an amazing restaurant in Delphi with views all the way down the valley and was able to secure us a table with a prime view. We also learnt about the Greek way of life today, the politics, the healthcare and many other aspects. Tas ensured that our trip of a lifetime was truly that, with his own widespread knowledge, passion and love of Greece, its history, politics and culture - 4 days we will never forget.

Our tour guide, Sophia, had previously worked as an Archeologist and was able to share a wealth of information in an entertaining manner. Bus and driver were excellent as were accommodations. We enjoyed touring the country and sea shore. We like to do and see stuff when we travel and don't need much time for relaxing. Trip exceeded expectations.
Tas did an amazing job of customizing our multi-day tour. Our group was a bit challenging - two young kids, two senior citizens, my husband, and me (an archaeology professor). Tas handled it all with ease. At every point, he knew which restaurants to recommend, where to drop off/pick up to make it easier with those of us who couldn't walk as well, and gave me plenty of time to see all the sites in detail. When I ran out of time at the site of Olympia, he made special arrangements with the guards for me to get back into the site for free the next morning! The only thing that might surprise you is that Tas is not a guide, so he doesn't go with you into the sites and museums - that is self-guided, on your own. But he knows a lot about the ancient history and knows exactly where to take you, which is all you really need. An excellent experience!
