Vi börjar vår resa vid det majestätiska Klosterneuburgklostret, en plats av djup andlig och historisk betydelse. Skatten: Vi besöker den kejserliga skattkammaren för att se "Ärkehertighatten". Det är inte bara en krona, det är en symbol för regionens identitet. Atmosfären: När du går genom dessa 900 år gamla salar kommer du att känna kopplingen mellan de härskande Habsburgarna och munkarna som har vaktat denna plats (och dess vin!) i århundraden.
Mellan klostret och vingårdarna njuter vi av en avkopplande bilresa genom Niederösterreichs landsbygd. Detta är den perfekta tiden att luta sig tillbaka och låta landskapet rulla förbi. Medan din privatchaufför navigerar kommer din Guide att dela fascinerande berättelser om Donaus historia eller helt enkelt låta dig njuta av lugn och ro innan vårt nästa äventyr.
När vi anländer till Dürnstein, "Wachaus pärla", förstår du varför poeter och målare älskar denna plats. Promenaden : Vi promenerar genom kullerstensgatorna, fyllda med doften av aprikoser och charmen av gamla hus. Legenden : När du tittar upp på ruinerna kommer din Guide att dela den romantiska och dramatiska historien om Lejonhjärtat Richard. Det är en perfekt plats för minnesvärda bilder. Lunchrast : Denna charmiga by är också en idealisk plats att pausa. Vi kan rekommendera en mysig traditionell krog eller en restaurang med utsikt över floden, där du kan njuta av läckra lokala rätter i en avslappnad atmosfär. (Lunchkostnad ingår ej).
Detta är ofta favoritdelen av dagen. Vi besöker ett lokalt familjevineri inbäddat bland vinstockarna. Upplevelsen: Det är ingen brådska här. Vi sätter oss ner för att smaka den krispiga Grüner Veltliner och eleganta Riesling. Du kommer att träffa människorna som gör vinet, höra deras berättelser och njuta av den genuina österrikiska gästfriheten ("Gemütlichkeit") som du inte hittar i stora produktionshallar.
Den stora finalen är Stift Melk. Att stå på sin terrass med utsikt över dalen är en oförglömlig upplevelse. På Melk utforskar vi klostergårdarna och besöker den magnifika klosterkyrkan – båda med gratis inträde – medan din Guide väcker klostrets 900-åriga historia till liv. Biljetter till de inre hyttrummen och biblioteket ingår inte, men kan ordnas på begäran. Vi beundrar den fantastiska barockarkitekturen och besöker kyrkan som lyser av guld och ljus. I stället för att rusa genom museer tar vi oss tid att absorbera storslagenheten i innergårdarna och panoramautsikten och reflektera över dagens skönhet.
När vi kör tillbaka kan du blunda och koppla av, bär med dig smaken av vin och minnen av en vacker dag. Kvällstur tillbaka till Wien (ca 1 timme) — vila och njut av utsikten; hotellavlämning.

My mother and I were visiting Austria from Canada for my birthday. Jenny is without a doubt the best tour guide we have ever had. Jenny is not an average tour guide - she holds a Master’s degree, and her depth of knowledge of Austrian culture, architecture, history, and food and wine truly showed. She was incredibly knowledgeable, and able to answer every question we asked, whether it was about the Wachau Valley, Austrian history, wine, the Habsburgs, or something completely unrelated to the day’s itinerary. Jenny brought along an iPad filled with photos and other visual aids that made everything she explained easier to understand. It was obvious how much preparation and care she puts into every tour. Jenny is an exceptional storyteller. She has a gift for introducing the history behind an object or location before we saw it, so when we encountered it later, it felt like the culmination of the story rather than just another artifact or exhibit. We were on a tight schedule because I needed to return to Vienna in the evening, and Jenny seamlessly tailored the day around our interests while making sure we still had time to browse local shops, enjoy the castles and wineries, and we never felt rushed. Every stop was perfectly paced, thoughtful, and engaging. Beyond her incredible knowledge, Jenny is warm, personable, professional and it was genuinely lovely to spend the day with her. At several points throughout the tour it felt like we were just spending the day with our (brilliant and educated) friend. Jenny truly set the standard for what an exceptional guide should be. The entire experience was flawless from start to finish. We wouldn’t change a thing and would recommend Jenny for any tour in the region without hesitation. If you’re looking for a fun day with a guide who is brilliant, charismatic, engaging, exceptionally well prepared, and genuinely passionate about sharing Austria’s history and culture, Jenny is the one to book.

We visited ancient and interesting castles and towns, had a lovely lunch, and learned quite a bit about wine making. Beautiful scenery and buildings. Thorough and interesting history. This was an absolutely wonderful day. I have wanted to visit the Wachau Valley for several years and just couldn't come up with the best way to do so. Our guide Jenny was very pleasant and incredibly knowledgeable and we learned so much about the places that we visited, the history of the area and the wines we tasted. She recommended a charming family owned restaurant in Durnstein where the food was hot and delicious on a day with a little rain. I cannot recommend this tour enough!

We were staying in Vienna but badly wanted to visit the Wachau Valley/Danube River, and Melk Abbey. This tour allowed us to do all of this and more! We even stopped at a local winery and ate lunch with the owner and visited his cellar. Jenny was both knowledgeable and personable and presented the information in an enjoyable manner. The day was organized and flexible enough to ensure our comfort snd enjoyment. My husband who tends to not enjoy tours, said it was the highlight of his trip! Highly recommend Jenny and this fantastic experience!

Top notch private tour of the Danube wine country with great stops at castles and vineyards. Convenient pick up and return to hotel. Great way to get out of Vienna and see the countryside. Knowledgeable tour guide and her husband (our driver) - highly recommend

We had a wonderful time getting out of Vienna and see the area along the Danube. We spent the day with Cozy in a private tour - driver, guide, and us. PIckup and dropoff at our hotel was perfect. The drive was comfortable as well as informative. We received a lesson on the history of the area accompanied by maps and pictures. We drove out the Melk. An amazing monastary/castle. Our guide supplemented the Kelb tour guide with extra details and background. Then drove on to Durnstein. We walked the streets accompanied by our guide again getting a great review of the history of the town. Next was lunch and wine tasting - including a tour of the wine cellar. Loved the food and the variety of wines. Finally we stopped at a castle/cathedral just outside Vienna. it was dark by then and we had the whole area to ourselves. It was a eerie mysterious way to end the day - bringing the history of the area to life. I would recommend using Cozy and look into other tours they conduct. Thanks!
