Getting close to nature
We experienced a wonderful trip in the Namibian desert. Camping is the ideal way to get close to Nature. It was physically more challenging but so worthwhile to see the sunrise from a dune and experience the night sky in all its brilliance.

Highly recommended
It is highly recommended.
You can watch the sunrise and sunset well at Dune 45 and arrange it on request.
The campsite is well equipped and comfortable. The shower is hot and the toilet is clean. There are restaurants and Wi-Fi. I rented a sleeping bag, so staying in a tent was not as cold as I expected. The guides are very helpful and quick to deal with flat tire problems. The sandwiches for lunch, the lamb and chicken stew and garlic toast for dinner were very good, made by our guide. It's very nice to have free airport transfers in Windhoek. I felt safe interacting with tour companies without any problems.
I think the cost is very good considering the content.

Amazing 3-day trip to Sossusvlei
Had an amazing 3-day trip to Sossusvlei! Everything was so well organised, and the scenery was absolutely incredible.
A huge shoutout to our guide, Shaka—he was fantastic! Super friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole trip so much fun. He really went the extra mile to make sure everyone had a great time.

The best tour ever
Our trip with Chameleon Safaris Namibia was made truly exceptional by our guide, Shaka. He handled every aspect of the journey brilliantly from safe driving and outdoor cooking to setting up camp and explaining every detail along the way with great depth. When my friend suddenly fell ill, Shaka took complete charge of the situation. He handled all the coordination and hospital arrangements effortlessly, leaving my friend and me with nothing to worry about. We are deeply grateful for his steady support and professionalism. Incredible Trip!
The 3-day camping trip in sossusvlei with Chameleon Safaris was amazing! The group was different from what I would have thought in terms of nationality/age distribution, but it turned out perfectly and we had lots of fun together! The nature itself is the most impressive I have ever seen with the desert-dune-landscape in beautiful light. The itinerary is planned in a way to get the most out of the short time also considering the driving time in between, but still left some calm time in the afternoon where one could for example chill by the pool of the campsite.
The setting with a hot meal coming from the fire in the evening, the campsite surrounded by nature and even an breakfast by the dunes one morning could come straight out of a book. Smithley was the best guide we could have asked for, very calm & nice with lots of knowledge and experience and own admiration and respect for the surroundings there. I will cherish those memories forever and would definitely recommend the trip!

Great camping safari!
I did the budget camping desert tour over 3 days and would 100% recommend it. The nature is breathtaking. Our guide, Smithley, was extremely accommodating, spoiled us with homemade food, and was helpful with every question.
The activities in the desert are very well organized, and there’s also time to relax. It was no problem to split the group at times, so everyone could hike longer or shorter depending on their level.
The campsite is beautifully located in nature; the sanitary facilities are clean and completely sufficient, and there’s even a pool on site for cooling off. The organization by Chameleon Tours worked excellently, including the airport shuttle, and they were also very helpful and uncomplicated when it came to additional activities or questions.
The value for money is absolutely right, and the costs are justified for everything that’s included.

Very professionally run and fun packed tour of Sossusvlei
I had a really good experience on this tour- I was with two other solo travellers who I didn't know but bonded with during this trip. Smithley was the guide and was very professional but also a fun guy to hang out with, made amazing dinners (even with vegetarian requirements) and gave good information about everything. There was a lot packed into the tour and it wasn't just driving around although there were some free time periods at the campsite. However I was impressed with the standard of the campsite and didn't realise it would have a full bar and restaurant! So you can have a cold beer in the afternoon heat which is nice. The canyon and Solitaire were unexpected bonus features. Smithley was also accommodating when in our group we decided not to hike certain dunes. The only small point I would say is that when doing the first dune hike we got lost, as I think we weren't expecting to be doing the hike on our own self-guided and we were not experienced hikers, and there wasn't much tips or advice concerning how it would be to hike up a sand dune. Dune 45 was straightforward as it was just straight up. Overall a top trip!

Loved it
We had the best time on this tour!! The views were incredible, there was lots of space on the bus and many of the most famous viewpoints were not very busy since it is low season. Our guide, Smithlee, was the most good-natured, helpful and kind guide we’ve ever had. He also cooked great dinners! We learned so much, saw so much, and had the perfect balance of relaxation to amazing activities. I would recommend this tour to anyone, it’s a great amount of sights for the price.
