Kom och njut av "staden med hundra kyrkor" på denna 2-timmars vandring. Denna magiska stad Lucca är gjord av fästningsstilarkitektur från 1500- och 1600-talet. Till skillnad från de flesta städer är Lucca en lugn och långsam plats där du kan koppla av på din turné. Med början på Amfiteatern kommer du att lära dig hur det byggdes på ruinerna av en romersk arena, vilket ger den sin ovulform. A fascinating and comprehensive tour of Lucca, a gem of Tuscany. Ilaria was very informative and anticipated the needs of our group on a very hot day, mixing in breaks for shade and drinks without breaking up the continuity of the tour - highly recommended!
While our guide was professional and polite, this tour was a shadow of other private tours we have taken in other cities. Usually on a private tour you have an enthusiastic and friendly guide who is excited to share information both historical and cultural. Our guide was very exact on the historical elements of the tour and covered the main things you need to see in Lucca but we could have easily read this information ourselves. We didn't feel like we had the "extra" experience you tend to have with a private tour and came away feeling that we would not recommend it to a friend. It would have been more fun to have an audio guide and walk it ourselves. Our guide did not seem to like her job very much which is a little unfortunate.
Dear Helena, thank you for your review. It is very sad to read you did not enjoy the tour. During a private tour a visitor is free to ask the guide what he/she prefers to see. Lucca is full of art and Gilda tried to give you the best of the city, talking about art, history, lifestyle of the locals and food. After reading your comment I talked to Gilda. She told me the exact words you ended the tour with her: " thank you for the wonderful introduction of the town. We really appreciated it ". These words do not match with your review. Lucca is lovely, and our guide was lovely as well! We saw so many things and learned a lot about the history of the town! The churches and walls were the most amazing!
