Calle Ocho saktar inte ner för någon, och denna tur lutar rakt in i det. På två timmar äter, smuttar och promenerar du genom landmärken, smaker och levande historia som gör Little Havana till Miamis sanna själ. Den börjar vid Grisbuktens monument, där berättelserna om 1960-talets kubanska migration satte scenen. Därifrån utvecklas kvarteret: färgglada tuppskulpturer, José Martí-monumentet, Kubakartan och Dominoparken, där Celia Cruz och Gloria Estefan har sin plats på Walk of Fame. Sen tar maten över. Färsk Guarapo-juice på en grannfruteria, guava pastelitos och skinkcroquetas från ett familjeägt bageri, ett kubanskt kaffe, krispiga mariquitas och en perfekt pressad kubansk smörgås. Turen avslutas med att titta på cigarrrullar på jobbet, ett hantverk som är lika mycket en del av Calle Ocho som själva maten. Boka en plats i en liten grupp, eller gör den helt till din. Denna vandring tar dig genom ett ödmjukt men utvecklande stadsdel, med ett kalejdoskop av kultur, traditionell tull och levande färger. Gå ner Memorial Boulevard för att lära dig historiens början, besök lokala mamma och popinrättningar som en fruktmarknad, bageri, klädaffär (guayaberas) och cigarrbutik. Medan ingen mat erbjuds på denna turné kommer du att prova nybryggt kubansk kaffe. Din guide kommer att svara på frågor om historia, folk och politik. Our guide, Kayan, was absolutely perfect. He's informative and funny. We can tell he has done tons of reseach and actually know what he's talking about. He definitely made this tour a wonderful experience. We've been on tasting tours before. The tasting sample is normally the tiniest amout but not on this one. More than expected considering it's just a "sample". The quality of these tastings did not disappoint either. Delicious!
