An unforgettable 2-day trek through Colca Canyon! Stunning views, challenging hikes, and breathtaking condor sightings. Our guide was knowledgeable and supportive. Perfect balance of adventure and culture. Highly recommend for nature lovers visiting Arequipa. A must-do experience!
We had a fantastic 2 day tour into Colco Canyon with our local guide Hans (don't let the name fool you, he is Peruvian). Everything was taken care of, with the only extra cost being entry to the thermal springs after the hike, which we were aware of before booking. Hans was very relaxed on the walk, going at our pace and giving us plenty of breaks along the way. He also took the time to explain to us the area, the plants and animals we came across and how the local people lived. He was genuinely interested in maximising our experience rather than just simply trying to finish as quickly as possible. All supplied meals were tasty and plentiful, we didn't feel hungry at any point and the overnight lodge was basic but clean and comfortable, with a swimming pool (if it is warm enough) and drinks and snacks for sale (dinner included). Ultimately it was an amazing experience and we would happily recommend this tour to anyone looking to hike through Colca Canyon
Had an amazing time trekking through the canyon. Tiring but very rewarding and would definitely do it again!!! Very easy to work with the guides and such amazing people!
We booked the tour with Ventura travel, because we were attracted by the idea of small groups and of being picked up at 6:30 instead of at 3!! We could't be happier with our choice!! We were lucky that the "small" group ended up being just us and we had a wonderful time with the driver/DJ and our great guide Remi. He kept telling us a lot of stuff about the Canyon and how it is to live there, which was nice because distracted me from the tiredness. He is a really nice guy and fun to talk to! Additionally, the food was very nice throughout the places we ate during the tour (we specially enjoyed the biiig breakfast after the hike up) and they were really flexible in the drive back, allowing us to stop to see lamas, alpacas and vicuñas. My friend and I were looking for an activity to do while staying in Arequipa. Luckily we stumbled across Ventura, which provides an incredible experience in which you travel with a local guide and have the opportunity to try authentic local food (your guide takes you to a buffet where you can try a lot of different, delicious local foods at once - definitely a highlight of the trip) and see all the best areas of Colca Canyon. Our guide, Jose, was fantastic. He made sure we stopped when we needed more water or needed a restroom, and brought fruit for us as snacks when we were on longer parts of the trek. He answered all of our questions and had great tips on condors (another highlight of the trip - an hour or so looking at the condors!) And even gave us recommendations for when we were in Arequipa. The trip allowed us to see so much and meet new people for an affordable price that is well worth the cost. We even got to feed a baby alpaca and try a 'Colca Sour' drink at a roadside stand. He made sure we got to try everything we wanted to while driving around and trekking. We would definitely travel with Ventura again!
We are a family of 5, 3 kids 10, 14, 17 did the 2D track to Colca canyon. I advise you to read the 1 star reviews on this company before booking with them. We traveled 1 month in Peru, July-August 2018, did both group and private tracks. private track always cost more, but on the other hand you get something different. that is not the case with this company. you pay 3 times more and get exactly the same experience. The car is a 7 seat SUV so we had to squeezed in - 3 in the middle row and 2 in the 3rd row which is more suitable for children. keep in mind that you have 4 long hour drive each day. (in other private tours the car was spacious mini van). when we told Raul during the track that we are not happy with something that he promised us and we didn't get, he answered very rudely how dare we complain after the discount he gave us... At the bottom line: we enjoyed the 2 days and got almost everything as promised. Fabian the guide spoke English well and was very nice. but - the only better thing in this private tour is that the pickup is at 6:30 instead of 3:00, and you can walk at your own pace. in my opinion it doesn't worth this price.

Took a private tour for 2 persons, cost was higher but was worth it, Christian the guide was excellent - good English, knowledgeable, helpful. It's 4 hours drive before starting going down which is really hard but with fascinating views. Way up was even harder but seeing the sunrise over the canyon iss unforgettable. True experience
Two day trek to Colca Canyon with a knowledgable, friendly, local guide. Remi, our guide, took us down to to the canyon trek took us down to the Oasis - a lush, pristine area within the canyon. All the locals knew and liked Remi and treated our group really well. Remi was flexible with our small group, which had different hiking paces. We got to see all the main highlights you can hope for in 2 days, get to know the local culture a bit, and enjoy the incredible views.
