Great way to see the interior of Oman, especially Jebel Shams and smaller villages with old mud brick homes and irrigation systems. Khalid was a great driver and chatted with us on all sorts of things. Would have been nice to have spent more time in Nizwa, but even 1.5 days in this region isnt enough to see everything it seems. Mountain resort was fine, with room for some small improvements, e.g. WiFi, breakfast delays, finding outlets in the room.

After some unpleasant and difficult dealings with Sunshine Tours we came upon at Star Tours and their representative Karen. Karen was prompt, informative and easy to talk to via email and WhatsApp making the booking process transparent and straightforward! The day prior Amer our guide contacted us via WhatsApp and we confirmed all the while feeling confident in our tour booking. The morning of the tour a vehicle with Sunshine Tours signage arrived at our hotel driven by Amer to pick us up. Confused we inquired and were to learn that Sunshine Tours is the mother company for Star Tours and Landscape Tours along with other companies. However, there were different office people at each company that one would deal with, ironically, they all sat side by side in the same office. Skeptical we set off on an overnight tour to Jebel Sams! Amer was a safe driver as we navigated our way to Forts and Souks in a modern comfortable SUV all the while listening to Amer’s comprehensive Narration. Amer was very accommodating to my disability and we adjusted the tour to suit our requirements at each stop. While we did not do the hike at Jebel Sams, the views are spectacular and what we came to see. Overnight at Sama Sama resort we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the upgraded Mountain View Cabin we had requested and paid extra for. The hotel buffet dinner was adequate and tasty, BBQ Camel Skewers suited the desert exotic experience with a different cuisine palate! Karen from Star Tours would check in with us each day to make sure all was good with us and our experience. The tour was exactly what we had hoped for, and with the exception of the skeptical start and not understanding the Mother Company’s “Sunshine Tours” hierarchy in the business we had a delightful experience. From Karen in the office to Amer our guide and driver our experience was top notch and highly recommendable!

This Grand Canyon of Oman is absolutely unimaginable / so amazing. It is breathtaking, adventurous and absolutely gorgeous! Ahmed was the best tourguide we could have - local who knew to assess our speed, expertise and wishes excellently!

We had a delightful day exploring Wadi Bani Khalid and the mesmerizing Wahiba Sands desert. Our journey included a fascinating visit to a traditional Bedouin house, where we immersed ourselves in their rich culture and even enjoyed some aromatic coffee together. I am a female solo traveler who luckily worked with Ahmed and Star Tours Oman for four days of exploring exotic Oman. Ahmed was a wonderful guide and provided transportation from the minute I arrived until he dropped me back at the Muscat airport. One day we visited all the key sites in Muscat. Then we headed to Nizwa, Oman’s Grand Canyon (Jebel Shams) and UNESCO approved Bahla Fort. We also fit in fine local food, shopping at souks, and staying at a lovely resort in the edge of the canyon. Star Tours did a great job in handling the details. Everything went perfectly! And Ahmed was one of the best guides I have ever used. He was friendly, knowledgeable, spoke excellent English, and was always concerned about what I wanted to see and do. Very attentive. I highly recommend both Star Tours and Ahmed!
