Fantastic Tour!

Our guide Ari was fantastic! Great to see the Mongolian countryside and steppes. Plenty of free roaming horses, cows, sheep, and goats along the way.

Experience in the semi-Gobi

Interesting, very long. The roads are a critical point, in poor condition.

I really appreciate our amazing guides!

It's really amazing tour. Our guides are so kind and always help us. In m y case, we were 5 members. You don't have to worry about bathroom, because guides fr equently stop by Market and we can go to bathroom. But I think you have to take your own tissue paper cuz there are almost no bathr oom at markets (next to highways) which ha s toilets paper. They also tell us a lot of thing s about Mongolia, for example nomadic people's life or traditional food, something like th ese. Moreover, each time we stop on the way (to see beautiful landscapes), they always take pictures. At Mini Gobi Desert, we ride Camels and they are so sweet. You can definitely enjoy the view. On the way to back to our hotels, our guides make us really enjoy! They shared us a lot of snacks and everything is perfect. I recommend you this tour, 100%!! Thank you for our amazing guides!

It was a long journey, but comfortable.

It was a long 280km one-way drive, but we were grateful to have a coffee and snacks break on the way in the grassland with the view, and to choose a facility with beautiful toilets to stop by. I enjoyed riding a camel in the desert, eating Mongolian traditional food with gel for lunch, and playing Mongolian traditional games on the train. Don't forget to wear a hat and sunglasses as the sun is strong in the desert!

Hands down a fantastic experience!

I saw most negative reviews complain about the length of the tour, but I think that’s a bit unfair, because the description clearly states it takes 10+ hours, so you know what you’re signing up for. That said, the team makes plenty of stops to break up the journey. We pulled over to take photos with wild horses along the way, stopped for coffee and bathroom breaks, and enjoyed a snack of delicious traditional Mongolian sweet biscuits. I didn’t feel tired at all. If you have an international SIM card, you’ll likely have cell service almost the entire way, which actually surprised me (vast areas of absolutely “nothing” and still I had 4G). But even without internet, the passing landscape is beautiful to watch. The car itself is very comfortable, equipped with working AC, and has fully reclining seats if you want to sleep. The guide actually suggested taking a nap at the start of our journey, and while I thought I would, I ended up staring out the window into the green Mongolian landscape the whole time. They also offer a ton of food throughout the day; in fact, I’m finishing the tour with an unopened package of crackers because I was as full as a balloon. Some reviews also mentioned the driving, but to be honest I had no issues at all. It’s a long journey on a single-lane road, so overtaking is expected, but nothing felt irresponsible to me (it’s important to remember you’re traveling in a country with a different driving culture). And anyway, the car had functional seatbelts, and even when the road got bumpy, I felt totally safe. The tour guide was kind, friendly, and punctual. In fact, I was the one who was seven minutes late, and he was very understanding about it. He shared interesting info about Ulaanbaatar and Mongolian culture without overloading me with an exhaustive history lecture on Genghis Khan or the Mongol Empire. As someone who appreciates a bit of quiet time while traveling, I really valued that he respected my space. The desert experience was quite fun. I drove the dromedary and we took plenty of pictures. On our way back, we stopped for fermented horse milk. In the car, we played a Mongolian game, practiced basic words in Mongolian and heard some old legends from the country. I really enjoyed it! The guide also took many photos of me and sent them via WhatsApp afterwards, and I even noticed him taking a few photos of himself , which was adorable to see: it genuinely felt like he was enjoying his day. Communication with the company beforehand was seamless; I sent them a WhatsApp message three days prior to confirm my hotel pickup, and they replied on the same day confirming everything on their end. As an avid traveler who has been on many tours, I can honestly say this was a top-tier experience. Highly recommended!

If you want to indulge in the desert and camels in a day, I definitely recommend it!

It was difficult on the schedule to get to the Gobi Desert, but I was looking for a tour to go to the desert and ride a camel, and as soon as I found it I applied. The drivers and guides were so kind and made for great memories! The hospitality is also the best and definitely recommended!

Not worth it, and dangerous driving

The guide and driver kept fighting with each other. The guide, Kai, was a nice guy. He definitely felt bad about what was going on. The car was not properly inspected beforehand. We went through 5 tires and had to change the car. The rear right tire kept popping/ deflating. We were told the tour would take 11 hours, but it ended up taking 15.5 hours. It took 7.5 hours to get to the actual desert, and we were only there for a little less than an hour. The driving was also very dangerous. He kept driving on the opposite side of the road to pass other cars. He would especially do this when going uphill with no clear line of sight. I don’t think it was worth my time, money, or safety…

Hi dear, Thank you for commenting. And we are sorry that our driver had to change deflated tires. There was indeed two tires not five as you mentioned to change. And we are truly sorry to finally change the car to accommodate you. Once again we feel so sorry about the road condition to semi Gobi. However it gets better every summer as road construction still goes on.

Semi Gobi Desert tour

had such a wonderful day on the Semi Gobi Desert tour! It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Mongolia. The scenery was so beautiful along the drive, and everything was so well organised and thoughtful. A huge thank you to the guide, Urtaa, who was fantastic. So friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing Mongolian culture and history. He and the driver made the whole day so much more enjoyable and memorable. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Mongolia. It was an amazing experience, and so glad I did it!

A Long Day for Very Little Desert Time

The desert itself was disappointing. Instead of feeling like a peaceful, natural landscape, it was crowded with activities and vendors, making it feel more like a carnival than a true desert experience. If you’re looking for a quiet connection with nature, this probably isn’t it. I also chose not to do any camel or horse rides, as I personally prefer not to participate in animal rides.
