Känd som "det bästa slottet på Nankaido (väg)", är en symbol för Kochi City. För närvarande finns det bara 12 slott från pre-Edo perioden i Japan, men Kochi Castle är en av de mest värdefulla slott. Det nuvarande huvudtornet byggdes om i augusti 1747. Den största egenskapen i Kochi slott är den sammanhängande helheten i huvudbyggnaden, med Tenshu, Goten och Corridor Bridge, som alla är helt närvarande tillsammans med stenmuren och så vidare. Lusthuset på översta våningen i slottstornet har utsikt över Kochi-staden.
Stor hall med matboder från cirka 40 olika restauranger, plus souvenirbutiker och andra butiker. Kanske kan du njuta av några av de berömda "Katsuo Tataki", som är seared bonito fisk. Det rekommenderas att du lägger salt och skivad vitlök på den innan du provar. Njut av de lokala mat som är unika för Kochi.
Makino Botaniska Trädgård, som ligger vid toppen av Godaiyama, Kochi, öppnades 1958 för att hedra prestationerna av Dr Tomitaro Makino, "Fader till japansk växt taxonomi" från Kochi Prefecture. Omkring 3000 hektar, inklusive vilda växter relaterade till läkaren, färgar de fyra årstiderna i de cirka 6 hektarna av trädgården, vilket gör det till en av Japans ledande integrerade botaniska trädgårdar där du kan känna glädjen att möta växter i naturen.
Fördjupades kraftigt på grund av Tosa Herrens hängivenhet, och munkdisslarna samlades och blev centrum för Tosa-kulturen som ett studie tempel. Många verk av stor betydelse har kommit ut ur denna plats, och det finns en "hemlig" Buddha som bara visas för allmänheten en gång vart 50 år. Vidare är den femstoriga pagoden som är byggd i precinct den enda i Kochi Prefecture, och tornet innehåller stupor som begärts från Bodh Gaya, Indien.

Kochi hamnen är inte nära från centrala Kochi stad, så om du är kryssningsgäst, kommer vi att träffas på Harimayabashi Tourist Bus Terminal, det är en busshållplats från Kochi hamn. Du kan komma lätt med pendelbuss.

We stopped in Kochi on a cruise and wanted to use a private guide instead of a large shore excursion through the cruise line. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Mitsue. She was knowledgeable and really took the time to understand our group’s interests and needs. And she was wonderful when one of our older family members was feeling unwell due to unseasonable heat in finding alternatives for us. We would enjoy seeing more of Kochi with Mitsue again!

We had a wonderful day in Kochi with our delightful expert guide Mitsue. She was kind, knowledgeable, and related well to everyone in our party across age groups. Most importantly she was flexible. It was unseasonably warm weather and when one of our older family members became fatigued, Mitsue was prompt in offering solutions and getting them to an air conditioned space where they could recharge - while ensuring the other members of our party saw the key landmarks. We will absolutely love to tour Kochi again with Mitsue!

Our guide Peach very kindly met us at the port so that we did not have to take a paid shuttle into town. She was very enthusiastic about her city and its beautiful sites, and took many posed pictures of us so that she could send us a photo album. We especially enjoyed the Makino Botanical Garden dedicated to the man who devoted his entire life to advancing botany in Japan and the world. Visiting Kochi castle was strenuous for us due to the many stairs. Younger/more fit travelers would have no trouble.

Kumiko was a great tour guide. I would recommend it. She was flexible with the tour because of my surgery. She gave great alternative options. Kochi castle was beautiful and we loved learning about the culture.
