På denna roliga 1-dagstur kommer du att njuta av det nya religiösa arvet i Sapporo, tillsammans med fantastisk utsikt över centrum och stor central park, med sakeprovning som grädde på moset i slutet av dagen! När du besöker den gigantiska gyllene sovande Buddhan vid Butsuganjitemplet och Buddhas kulle, en fusion av modern konst och gammal religion, kommer du att se hur folket i Sapporo uttrycker sin andlighet och kreativitet tillsammans. Efter lunch, ett besök i centrala Sapporo, en tur upp i dess ikoniska TV-torn, och Sake provsmakning i en liten lokal bar kommer att introducera dig till den sekulära sidan av denna norra japanska stad.

Vid ankomsten till Butsugan-ji (Sovande/Liggande Buddha) kommer du att träffas visuellt av den 45 meter långa Buddha Nirvana-statyn som vilar/ligger horisontellt i lugn och ro, på taket av den Stora Nirvana tempelsalen. Denna fantastiska plats anses nu vara en av de starkaste andligt mest kraftfulla platserna i hela Japan. Många besökare flockas här från hela Japan och hela världen. Förutom Buddha kan besökare se den vackra Jodo Pure Land Garden med en mycket autentisk japansk design. I närheten finns en damm och ett vattenfall med rent vatten. Det finns gamla rent rena trädgårdsstenar utspridda runt trädgården. Människor kommer till detta tempel inte bara för dess vackra atmosfär utan också för dess kraftfulla andliga område.
Denna skulpterade Buddhastaty i sten omges av en rotunda som ligger på en svagt sluttande konstgjord kulle inom marken som tillhör en kyrkogård. Den är 13,5 meter hög och väger 1500 ton. När man närmar sig den på avstånd förmedlar Buddhas ensamma huvud som kikar inifrån rotundan ett högtidligt, fridfullt intryck av Buddha. Entrén till Buddha har en vattenträdgård som besökare normalt går runt. Därefter går du genom en välvd betongtunnel i slutet av vilken Buddhastatyn sitter, i mitten av en öppen rotunda som tillåter solljus att komma in. Den cirkulära öppningen av rotundan med lätt strömmande ljus ger nästan en ”halo”-liknande känsla till Buddha-statyn. Definitivt en magnifik plats att skåda! Ett ”måste-besök” när som helst under året.
Därefter återvänder vi till centrala Sapporo och besöker The Sapporo T.V. Tornet. Den byggdes 1957 och är 147,2 meter hög. Detta torn designades och byggdes av Tachu Naito, en japansk arkitekt som också är känd för att ha planerat Tokyo Tower. Vi beger oss upp till det översta observationsdäcket där du kommer att njuta av spektakulär 360 graders utsikt över hela staden Sapporo dagtid. Din guide kommer att kunna peka på olika antennriktningar från observationsdäcket och informera gästerna om vilken specifik plats det är.
Vår rundtur avslutas vid Yata Sake Stand Bar. Detta är en mysig och pittoresk monterbar. Denna bar besöks ofta av både lokalbefolkningen och besökare. Det är lätt att veta varför. Personalen är mycket vänlig och verkligen ”vet sina grejer” när det gäller sake. Detta är ett “måste” besök för alla som gillar sake och vill veta mer detaljerad information om de olika typerna av sake.

Talk to your guide..! Japan is more then sightseeing and food .. it’s the people that will make your visit wonderful
Scott was awesome and was very knowledgeable about the area. If you ask, he will make the Itinerary extra fun too! Easily got to and from the Statue and into Sapporo proper!
If you are visiting Sapporo for a few days, I highly recommend this day trip. I met Scott at the determined meeting spot and he was there waiting when I arrived on time. It turns out I was the only traveler who had booked the tour that day, so we left immediately and took public transportation. It was super easy and we were able to chat on a personal level which made it feel like traveling with a new friend. Hill of the Buddha was the obvious highlight and he was super insightful and gave me pointers on the best photo angles. Having a tour guide there made for a more meaningful experience. From there we headed back to Sapporo and proceeded to do a walking tour of the city. I’m not sure how a regular tour would have been with a full group , but it showed me he was willing to cater the trip to circumstances and my desires and interests. Top notch!
Although I was the only person on this tour, my guide Scott worked just as hard at making sure I had a fabulous time. In addition to the original itinerary that he crafted, which was fabulous (Buddha statue, sake tasting, et cetera), Scott further escalated my experience that day by leveling it up with various destinations including the Nakajima Park, the Odori Park, Shiryokan, and JR Tower Observatory. He also helped me shop for omiyage and truly went over and beyond..
Scott was such a great tour guide. He was fun and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. Navigating to all of our stops was a breeze, and not only did Scott provide great insight into the Hill of the Buddha, but to life in Sapporo and Japan in general. Scott also doubled as a personal photographer, he even knew all the best angles to get photos and certainly didnt mind stopping every 10 feet so I could take a picture. The sake at the end of the tour was just the icing on the cake. Highly recommend!
We had a truly great day with Scott E. In our two-week trip to Japan this time, Scott is the only American born tour guide that we had, thus he was the easiest to understand. Besides Scott’s thorough knowledge of the sites we visited, we were able to share many laughs with him while reminiscing about the “good old days” in America. We were already a fan of the work of architect Tadao Ando, so seeing the Hill of the Buddha with Scott was a real treat. We would highly recommend Scott’s service to any visitors to Sapporo.
