En körning eller vandring genom porten överträffad av fyra stora leende ansikten av Brahma-Buddhisatva Lokesvara, på båda sidor om bron, det finns 54 Asuror till höger och 54 devaer till vänster håller långa Nagas-kroppar med sju huvuden. Det är hinduisk mytologi att kärna av mjölkhavet.
Mahayanas buddhistiska tempel Bayon ligger i centrum av Angkor Thom, huvudstaden förvandlades till en säkrare himmel genom att bygga befästa murar och en stor vallgrav runt den. Jayavarman VII placerade sitt kungarike under skydd av Buddha, vars staty var placerad i templets centrala helgedom, av Budhisattva Lokeshvara vars drag är representerade på templets ansiktstorn, täcker kardinalriktningarna, vilket förlänger medkänslan hos kung och en gud han identifierade sig med över hela riket. Bayon är det sista komplexa templet som byggdes av Khmer-kungen, det är mindre än Angkor Wat men de leende ansiktena, ristningarna, basrelieferna i detta tempel är störst!
Ett litet tempel med stort träd övervuxet och det är gömt i skogen i Angkor Thom.
Ta Prohm är ett av många templen byggda av en legendarisk khmerkung Jayavarman VII, han tillägnade templet till minnet av sin mamma, förtrollad i likhet med Prajnaparamita, Moder till alla Buddha. När besökare som återvänder hem frågas vilka tempel som har ett starkt intryck av dem, tar Ta Prohm ofta toppen av listan. Ett vackert tempel, bunden av massiva rötter av stora träd också känd som Tomb Raider tempel.

Our one-day trip through the temples of Angkor was absolutely unforgettable! We started early with a breathtaking sunrise at Angkor Wat - the colors reflecting off the towers were truly magical and worth the early wake-up call. Next, we explored Ta Prohm, and it felt like stepping into another world. The temple is intertwined with giant tree roots and surrounded by forest, creating a mysterious, almost mystical atmosphere. It was also noticeably cooler there, which gave us a much-needed energy boost after the morning heat. We ended the day at Bayon, famous for its serene stone faces - such an iconic and peaceful place. Standing among those smiling carvings was the perfect way to close the day. We didn't encounter any queues and never had to wait more than a few seconds to be able to take unobstructed photos. A huge shoutout to our guide, Bunleat, who made the whole experience so special. He was super friendly, funny, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating stories, historical and philosophical insights, and even the best photo spots. If you only have one day to experience Angkor’s magic, this is the perfect way to do it! Highly recommended!

In the morning we were picked up at 5 am at our hotel. Then we started driving to the Angkor. In pitch dark we enter the premise to watch the sun set at this beautiful Temple complex. After that we went to the Bayon and Tra Prohm temples as well. Our guide Bunleat showed us the temples and spoke about this with great compassion! This was an experience to never forget and we would definitely book again to other temples using this tour group and guide!

This tour was AMAZING and Borey was the absolute best tour guide. My husband and I were totally blown away by Angkor Wat and all the other temples. The history and architecture are awe-inspiring, and our guide made us appreciate all the details large and small. Borey is so knowledgeable, kind, and patient. He knows everything there is to know about the sites you’ll visit as well as Cambodian history more generally. He also knows all the best spots at every temple to avoid overcrowded areas and get the best photos. He took many great pictures of me and my husband—we plan to use one for our wedding thank you cards. We came in April during the hot season and he was so helpful, providing lots of cold water and finding us shady spots around the temples. Cannot recommend this tour and Borey highly enough!!
