Palace of Versailles Guided Tours
Louis XIV moved his court here in 1682 and built the stage on which the French monarchy performed itself. A guided tour is the difference between filing past gilded rooms and understanding them: the King's State Apartments and their planetary themes, the Queen's bedchamber and its hidden escape door, the Royal Chapel, and the 73-metre Hall of Mirrors with its 357 panes, where the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919.

Palace Tours i Versailles — Vanliga frågor
Are guided tours of Versailles worth it?
For a first visit, yes. The palace has no set route and little on-site interpretation, so a guide is what turns 2,300 rooms into a story — and guided tours enter through a reserved group entrance rather than the main security queue.
How long is a guided tour of the Palace of Versailles?
Palace-only tours run 1.5–2.5 hours and cost €64–€90. Full-estate tours that add the Trianon palaces and the Queen’s Hamlet last 4–8 hours and cost €145–€199.
What is the Hall of Mirrors?
A 73-metre gallery lined with 357 mirrors facing seventeen arched windows onto the gardens, completed in 1684 as the court’s main ceremonial route. Germany was proclaimed an empire here in 1871 and the treaty ending the First World War was signed in the same room in 1919.
