Em 1982, Mandela foi transferido da prisão de segurança máxima em Robben Island, uma pequena ilha em Table Bay, para a prisão Pollsmoor em Tokai, Cidade do Cabo. De lá, Mandela foi transferido para a então Prisão Victor Verster em 9 de dezembro de 1988, onde viveu em uma casa particular dentro do complexo prisional. Victor Verster, uma prisão agrícola, era frequentemente usada como trampolim para libertar presos políticos de menor risco. Mandela serviu mais 14 meses na prisão Victor Verster (agora chamada Drakenstein) até sua libertação em 11 de fevereiro de 1990. No dia de sua libertação, repórteres de todo o mundo cercaram a prisão, dando à prisão publicidade mundial.

The experience was great and worth every cent. It was a whole day experience and I feel that the day was well spent. Our tour guide Horean provided invaluable and interesting historical tidbits about the three towns.

Horea was an excellent guide, friendly, informative, funny. Robbie was good too. The transportation was comfortable and the sites we visited were good. Lunch was tasty and there was a variety of choices . The only area for improvement I could identify is the availability of some sweet wine choices.

Our tour guide was terrific. The scenery was stunning. All the wineries were gorgeous and lunch was delicious. I thought the wines we tasted were dreadful. I had prenty of delicious SA wines in restaurants in Cape Town. I don't know why wineries would bring out their worst for a tasting.
Amazing time! Our guide was superb, had a great time during the drive and at the vineyards. Recommend it 10/10. You get to see and be in some beautiful landscapes.

Excellent visit to three wineries with various wines and pairings. Paul (tour guide) shared a lot of interesting facts as we drove, and Tando was a good driver. Overall very good value for the cost. Lunch was extra, but large portions for low cost. It was a plus to visit the prison where Nelson Mandela finally obtained his freedom. I highly recommend this tour.
