We have been to many tours all over and I have to say this tour is very well thought out and organized from beginning to end. It even includes 2 meals so it is very good value. The meat pie was good and you get a big dinner at a pub. Both meals were good. We were picked up at the first meeting point (Thomas Sutcliff Mort) which was really convenient to where we were staying at the Circular Quay area. Damon was able to organize all the final drop offs to get everyone either at their door or very close to where they stayed. Damon did both the guiding and the driving and it was a long day! Our family much appreciated his efforts in making it a safe and memorable day for all of us. When Damon made one of the last stops in the evening to look at the night sky, it was a bit cold and I was tired so I almost did not get out of the car thinking it was just another night sky...but no, it is a brilliant night sky without light pollution where you can see the milky way. The only issue with this outing is that there are a lot of animal droppings all over the grass where the wombats are so you must be mentally prepared. I would definitely recommend this tour to family and friends. Damon did an amazing job!
Great tour for families who enjoy wildlife! Highlights include walking with cute wombats, seeing wallabies and joeys, beautiful views of tree filled valleys, heart pub food and more. Guide was super fun and friendly. Fantasy photo opportunities for photographers also. Highly recommend!
Excellent tour! Our tour guide was amazing and incredible experience. It was nice to get out of Sydney and see so much wildlife.
This tour exceeded all expectations. Dave and Dan our guides were knowledgeable, funny, personable and had all our needs covered before we even knew we needed them. I don’t want to spoil any fun surprises but whenever Dave has his camera out something good is about to happen! It’s totally worth the price in fact I don’t know how they do it for the price. Must be a labor of love 😉
The tour was great and Damon was amazing. Communicated well leading up to the tour. He gave us (by the exact minute!) the time he would be at the meet up point. He had snacks, water, jackets, chargers- you name it! even trivia! to make the all day tour comfortable and entertaining. He knew the best time to see the kangaroos and wombats before all the other tour buses arrived. The other activities such as star gazing was beautiful and memorable. Enjoyed the meat pie spot for lunch too! Overall would strongly recommend!
Wow! My family and I spent 3 weeks in Australia in June, and this was by far our favorite tour. Kiwi Dave was our driver, and he was just the best! The tour was a perfect mix of relaxation, education, and activity. Dave was a great guide, and kept everyone entertained with his stories and vast knowledge of Sydney and the surrounding countryside. The tour bus made several stops along the way (lunch, waterfalls, short hikes) before the main attraction, which was the wombat/kangaroo tour. Our group spent about an hour engaging with the animals and taking pictures. After the main event, we headed to an authentic pub for dinner, followed by some star-gazing. This was an all-day tour, but it certainly never got boring. My sons (ages 11 and 5) both had a wonderful time, and were fully engaged throughout. It should be noted that this tour was also a great value for the money, as it was an all-day tour that also included lunch/dinner, as well as snacks on the tour bus. Highly recommend Perfect Day Sydney for an adventure that the whole family can enjoy. If you can, try to get Kiwi Dave as your guide!
Very nice day. Everything was perfectly organized, and you could see a lot of the surroundings.
Our entire family loved the wombat experience! We were picked up by our guide and pro wombat photographer, Damon, in the 21 passenger bus adjacent to the Mariott in Sydney. He had a large array of snacks (fruit, granola bars, chips, Tim-Tams, etc) and bottled water for everyone. The bus had wifi and spare power banks in case you need to charge your device. The first stop was about an hour south of Sydney via the Princes Highway at the Sublime Point Lookout which has a fantastic elevated view of the coast overlooking Wollongong. We spent about 20 minutes here enjoying the view and availing ourselves of the public restrooms. From there, we continued south on the M1 until reaching the A48 to ascend the mountains. Motion sick people beware: this road consists of several 180-degree switchbacks while ascending to the ridge. We arrived at the Robertson Pie Shop close to 1PM. There are plenty of pies to choose from and yes, they even had two gluten-free pies (I believe one was chicken and the other was beef). After lunch, we visited two waterfalls. The first was a short 15 minute ride away to Carrington Falls which offers spectacular views and great photo ops. The second was Fitzroy Falls and was about another 20 minutes in the bus. From there, we dropped down into the Kangaroo Valley to visit a recreation/camping area which is where we were introduced to the wombats, kangaroos, and wallabies (near 4pm). The wombats are adorable little creatures! The kangaroos and wallabies were a little camera shy and yet, we were able to get some great photos. We spent a little over an hour wandering the grounds meeting all the local inhabitants. From there, we drove to the pub for our supper. Typical pub-grub: burgers, Aussie-parmie, and the gluten-free option was a vegetarian curry with rice. Afterwards, the drive back was near two hours with a bathroom break in the middle and I believe we returned on the M31. Damon was able to drop most of us off at the door to our hotels. A huge thank you to Damon for an amazing day!
Great experience. Damon ourtoyr guide was great, funny, and very informative. He had snacks, portable power chargers and water as well as extra jackets if people didn't dress warm enough. He was responsive to my questtion via WhatsApp. The sites were great and we got to see wombats, kangaroos and wallibees. Highly recommend this tour.
Damon was awesome! Super knowledgeable and fun to hang out with for the day. The day was perfectly paced, with stops along the way for bathroom needs and food. And the Timtams, new found treat for this American. When it came time for the animals it was truly special, he got us down to the park before others arrived and it was as if we had our own personal one on one with the wombats and kangaroos. He made sure to take some awesome pictures of us with the animals with our own phone, but just in case you're not a photographer he took some amazing photos and just gave them to us, which was pretty amazing too. Hands down one of the best tours I've taken so far.
