Excursão de Observação de Baleias e Golfinhos Trincomalee

I went on a boat trip to 'view' the dolphins off Trinomalee. Never again! The jolting boat ride is excrutiating on your back and then there are SO many boats chasing the dolphins that they can't do anything but scare them away with the noise and trying to drive over them. As a result you only see them for a few seconds. It's not worth it. Leave the poor dolphins in peace.

This trip was amazing! We saw so many dolphins but sadly didn't see any Whales. The dolphins where beautiful! This is definitely worth it and the guides made sure we saw some dolphins.

We just came back from the tour this morning and unfortunately we are disappointed. Not just due to us not having seen much, but also because it feels as if it is sold differently to what it was. We decided on this particular tour and were happy to pay some more than the other tours because it said it was different in terms of its respect for the wildlife and there was nothing this boat was doing that the other 30 were not. It felt like we were just chasing the poor dolphins around and I imagine the many loud revving engines were frightening them. For this reason alone I would not recommend. Also, the guide took us somewhere else for 40 minutes to 'look for whales' but then sat on his phone for the duration of that time. Other notes, there are no 'snacks', just a bottle of water so make sure you eat something before. It is 2 hours not 3. Be prepared by bringing a dry bag for your phone and valuable items because we got battered by the waves and drenched head to toe so therefore my friends phone is now water damaged.

What a magical morning on the water! The sunrise over the ocean was stunning, and within minutes, we spotted a pod of dolphins and later a giant blue whale. Our Guide booked us an early morning 6:30 ride to see the dolphins off the Trincomalee cliffs. The three of us were our Guide. We were able to observe dozens and dozens of dolphins twirling everywhere. Very nice walk.

Don't go on this excursion. Okay, you see dolphins, but these are hunted by all the boats. As soon as they see a dolphin, the gas opens full and you tear from one place to another. Embarrassing. What's happening here is just not possible.

We started the ride around o'clock. My local guide Ruwan, managed to drop me to the beach from my hotel. Our boat rider got info from other boats, and honest with us-told us he isn't sure about the whales and promised on dolphins. It was really nice ride around beautiful Trincomalee beach. May be after 15 min. we were lucky to see 10-15 large group of dolphins. They were all around the boat and amazing experience. As the rider said we couldn't see any whales, but still it was really worth tour. had lot of fun.
