What an incredible experience! The guides were so friendly and informative! We saw Biggs killer whales, which included a mom and her children and they put on quite the show for us with tail slapping and so much more. I would highly recommend this tour! Thank you!

The guides on board were knowledgeable, friendly and so helpful. We lucked out and followed a pod of orcas along the coast line. I loved the option of purchasing professional photos of my tour later that evening at a reasonable price.

Great naturalist, boat seats need to be recovered and the suit they give you are very old and mine didn’t work (Velcro’s or zipper) so I was still cold. Everything else was really good.

Went on the 4 hour cruise and followed a pod of 4 orcas for 40 minutes. Also got great photos of Mount Baker. It was a great time. The boat was large, but they did not overload with people. Plenty of viewing room. Captain and crew were informational, professional and friendly. Would highly recommend.

The boat and crew were great. They worked hard to find Orcas. We knew it was possible not to see the famous Orcas but this region is supposed to be a great spot. We did not see any Orcas or significant whale sightings, only glimpses of a Minke whale plus some Seals and Walruses. A disappointing outing. The Captain reported that none of the whale excursions saw whales.

This was a wonderful experience. Captain Gabe, Kelly, and Lauren were knowledgeable, delightful and really made an effort for us to see the orcas. We were fortunate enough to watch them for probably a half hour + while they bobbed up and down in the waterways north. The experience was well worth it.

On our family trip to Friday Harbor in San Juan Islands, our primary goal was to do a whale watching tour. We originally booked with another carrier for a small group whale watching tour which ended up getting cancelled due to weather and rough seas. The tour had no availability to reschedule on an alternate day so San Juan Safaris was recommended to us. We were concerned about taking a bigger boat with a larger number of people. We though it may be too crowded with too many passengers along the rail to see whales. But San Juan Safaris did not disappoint! The boat had two levels to watch the water for whales, it was clean, comfortable, and the staff onboard were amazing! The captain along with staff greeted each passenger as we came on board. As soon as we departed the dock, the captain announced that whales were spotted quite a distance away but he was going to try to get us there. And that he did! We encountered 13 whales which we watched from the legal distance and got great pictures and video! Throughout the time we watched, the Naturalists staffed on the boat, browsed the crowd explaining whale behavior and was familiar with the group of whales we observed. We were very impressed with the San Juan Safaris Whale Watching Tour and highly recommend them!

The crew and vessel were nice and we know it’s always the luck if you see animals or not. That said the vessel seemed more interested in seeing whales at the expense of an enjoyable trip seeing other ocean creatures. 25 mile round trip and pretty much bee-lined the excursion.
