I recommend this tour with Yonas to anybody! He was an exceptional guide and took us for a great trip to the Wenchi Crater Lake. From the point of making the reservation to the actual day of the trip, he communicated with us on what to bring, what to expect, etc. He arrived right on time at 6 am to pick us up at our hotel and in general is just a very nice person to talk to. He explained lots of things about the local culture, recognized when we wanted to sleep, and drove very well. The crater lake itself was beautiful and we had a hike through the rift valley. It did rain a bit so we didn't swim in the small waterfall area or mud bath but it would have been nice to do so and enjoy the view. On our way home, Yonas dropped us and our friends off at each of our hotels. He even drove out of the way the next day to drop off an umbrella we had forgotten in the car. Overall it was a great day and a wonderful host.

Yonas answered my enquiry straight away, professional and friendly. He helped shape our day tour according to our requests and accommodated our wishes, being flexible. He is a kind and insightful guide, hardworking and keen to please and help in whatever way possible. He organised the day effectively and spoke very good English. The day trip itself was fun. We saw baboons on the way, some carrying babies, and stopped for a traditional coffee and chatted to locals. When we arrived at the lake went to some viewpoints and then did the hike to the swing bridge, mud pools and waterfall with a local guide. The waterfall was from a warm spring and was lovely to stand underneath! After we hiked back up and then got a tuk tuk down to the lakes edge to board the traditional boat over to the island with Yonas. We had a walk around the island and then after we went for lunch at the nearby resort (not included). It has a beautiful view. We recommend Yonas for any tour in Addis- he also helped us plan a half day tour around the city.

I booked this tour right before leaving Ethiopia, and I’m glad I did. Yonas (our guide) tailored the experience to accommodate everyone’s interests in the group and he was also very knowledgeable about all aspects of the tour. The crater lake itself is stunning and there are a few activities to choose from that suite your interests - we ended up going to the market and hiking up and down the crater as well. I highly recommend this tour for anyone that is considering it.

This was a wonderful trip and organised brilliantly. Yonas was a knowledgeable tour guide and was extremely flexible to accommodate to our (changing!) needs. We did this as a day-trip and was advised to leave early so that we had maximum time to enjoy the crater and the beautiful surroundings. The drive from Addis is pleasant and you will pass through lots of greenery and small villages with ample photo ops. Having a local lunch and observing the infamous coffee ceremony was incredibly special. I wouldn’t hesitate to book future tours with Yonas!

Yonas organised an amazing trip to Lake Wenchi! The guide met us seamlessly and had a perfect day planned out - a great hike round the stunning lake, seeing all the sites and viewing points for rhus stunning scenery, visiting the church by boat, and a traditional ethiopian lunch. I live in Addis and it was the perfect day out, a big thanks to Yonas !
