All the staff and the guides were outstanding, we visited the medieval museum and the Irish museum of time with our summer camp group, the kids really enjoyed the workshops afterwards, I definitely recommend everyone to give it a go!
Not what I was expecting and not much too see. Took about 20 minutes tops and nothing medieval to see here.
What an experience. Our guide Maeve went above and beyond with everything. Her knowledge and delivery of information made this tour both interesting informative and so enjoyable that anyone who doesn’t do this is missing out on a wonderful tour Do go and check it out. This tour was part of a package that we bough for €23 which also included a walking tour Bishops palace and Time Museum and the silver museum Best value for your money
Fantastic so Interesting and a wonderful lesson in local and national history. A must see
Neat museum with an impressive array of medieval artifacts relevant to Irish history.
Dear Sean, Thank you for your review, great to hear you thought the museum, and its artefacts, we so interesting! We hope to welcome you back again some time soon! Many thanks, Waterford Treasures
A contemporary museum featuring many remarkable and high-quality exhibits (including sacred ones), which atmospherically presents a rather painful part of Ireland's Anglo-Norman history in the Middle Ages. The close connection to the history of the Normans and the English crown is made clear, as is the military superiority of the Normans. A must-see museum for history enthusiasts beyond well-known castles and forts, providing visitors with a good introduction to this part of Ireland's history. The admission price of €12 is rather at the higher end of the scale for a permanent exhibition of this size. The museum shop is well-stocked, and there is no museum café given the museum's location, but options are available in the immediate vicinity. The parking lot on Bolton Street is not far away and is cheaper than the many parking spaces along the banks of the River Suir.
Dear visitor, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Medieval Museum. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the exhibits, and felt that the Medieval and Anglo Norman history was shared so tastefully. We appreciate your comment on the cost of admission, though we always try to offer our cost friendly bundle ticket, where time to explore other museums is available. We're glad you enjoyed our Medieval giftshop, and your note on parking will be a big help for future visitors, too! For all food and coffee needs, we're glad to have Bishop's Palace Cafe available less than 1 minute away in our other museum - where they kindly offer 10% discounts to our visitors! Be sure to check it out the next time you visit Waterford City! Many thanks, Waterford Treasures
This museum is well worth a visit. The medieval artifacts they have are totally amazing the most stunning of which are the church vestments from the 1300’s woven and embroidered with gold. It is not a huge museum so maybe two hours max would be enough time.
Dear Rich, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It's great to hear that you felt your visit was worthwhile - even if just for a couple of hours. We're delighted that you enjoyed the artefacts, particularly our cloth of gold vestments - the only complete set of pre-Reformation medieval vestments left in North Europe! We hope that you enjoyed your visit to Waterford City. Many thanks, Waterford Treasures
Amazing collection in a gorgeous building with a lovely staff. Only bummer was no guided tour available on the day we visited.
Dear Andrew, Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear you enjoyed you visit, despite the lack of availability for guided tours. While it's not the most common occurrence, it can happy on occasion unexpectedly! We hope you might be able to visit again to experience this museum guided! Nonetheless, we're delighted that you felt welcomed by our team, and that you enjoyed the collection itself! Many thanks, Waterford Treasures
A really enjoyable museum to visit with lots of original gems from Waterford's past, highly recommend the guided tour, the entertaining guide brings it to life!

An incredible experience. Hundreds of years of history in a fascinating chain which brought us from the pre-Viking era to today’s modern building. Thank you to Niamh for accompanying us on the historical journey.
