Great day out !

We came on a Saturday 8/8 and it was busy as we expected. We went to guest services to find out what RAP they provide for children with disabilities. Their programme gives 4 virtual queue tickets for 4 chosen rides. Once’s used you can go back for 4 more and so on. This worked brilliantly for us and made the whole experience so enjoyable. When we did entire queues it was a few cycles , longest queue was 20 mins. Which is something my son can cope with. Lad at guest services was brilliant.. so helpful . Some of the lifeguards were more animated than others . But that’s character .

Not fun

Thought I was buying two tickets for Water Country USA on 08/04/26 only to get to the park and find out the tickets are for an Aqua night event that ended on 08/01/26 despite the fact even on the previous page it asks how my day was at Water Country USA. Could not reach anyone at viator, I’m now disputing the charge with my credit card company. Let see.

Will not return.

Bandages: several floating in wave pool. Wave pool was underwhelming. Staff was unfriendly. Food cost high tbe. Cutback water coaster was fun. But other slides were dated and need renovated . As does the park. Will not return.

OUTSTANDING

Best water park ever! We were fortunate with the weather and with not having many rides with long lines. The park encompasses 43 miles - so be ready to do some walking. Sections seem to have a good mix of activities - each with age-appropriate water slides. Little ones will enjoy the splash parks; Cowabunga was just one of our favorites (ages 7 and 9). But the Hubba Hubba Highway won everyone over! Plan on spending the entire day, you will want to repeat most of the rides over and over again. We splurged on a cabana, and although it is a bit expensive, when you have a large group, having a dedicated home base really helps when everyone wants to go a different part of the park.

Afterglow closed Sunday Nights

We bought a ticket for the after glow for Sunday night 7/19, we arrived at the park only to find that the park was closed, needless to say this was extremely disappointing there’s no reason why u should be allowed to purchase tickets on a day the park is closed. I have of course open a case for a full refund & compensation.

Lines like Disney

Fun water park. Places to park the stroller and hang in the shade. Loved the lazy rivers but with so many people it can be hard to just hang and relax. Some rides move quickly (big daddy and pipeline) as they have plenty of inflatables to keep the line moving. Other rides you are kept waiting for an inflatable like Colossal is easily an hour wait as was the water roller coater (can’t recall the name). The lifeguards all take to the rules differently. On the safer side, leave ALL the jewelry at home. Bring water shoes to save your feet and they are allowed on most rides. Had fun with the family ages 4-50.

Best water park EVER

Exactly what you want in a water park. Lots of shade, lots of sun, lots of water, lots of rides! An AMAZING day, a much better option on a hot day than Busch Gardens. If you are a veteran go to their website to research discounts. I was able to get three free tickets for being a veteran, but that does vary seasonally.

Seating was bad and the lockers were to far away from the seating. This was an alll around very bad experience.

Many Slides closed and 30-60 minute long lines

If you read reviews i encourage you to verify the validity of the reviewer- some ratings seem awfully high compared to my experience, but of course reviewing is very subjective. Overall, i would say this is not a waterpark i would return to unless i was a local. #1- crowds and lines aren’t great. I wasn’t expecting hour-long lines on a random Thursday in August with thunderstorms in the forecast. If that doesn’t bother you, you might be ok. #2- food options aren’t great. Meal plan was a waste for me. Salty, fried food is not my thing. That too, might not bother you. #3- lots and lots of biting bugs. It is VA and in a wooded area, so yeah. I was itching all day. #4- dirty, poopy bathrooms. Every bathroom i went in stunk. Gross #5- quite a few slides were not operational. Cowabunga for the little kids was completely inoperable and drained due to needing a repair. When slides/areas are closed its very frustrating. If none of the above bothers you- you will enjoy your day. The slides are fun—all of them, but i would not drive across 3 states to visit again. There are better, cleaner options closer to my home. just a suggestion… wear slides or water shoes. The concrete gets very hot and tears up the skin on the feet. A lot of hills and a lot of walking.

Paid for Convenience, Got Chaos Instead

Our family went to Water Country hoping for a fun, easy day with the kids, especially since we had our special-needs nephew with us. We bought the All-Day Meal Pass thinking it would make things simple and stress-free. Instead, it turned into one of the most frustrating experiences we’ve ever had at a theme park. From the start, it was clear the employees had no idea how the meal pass worked. We asked questions and got blank stares or conflicting answers. No one could explain what we were supposed to get, and the scanners barely worked. After our first meal, we rode a few attractions and, over 90 minutes later, tried to grab some fountain drinks. The staff at the counter told us we had already used our drink privileges—even though we hadn’t. The scanners constantly failed, and there was zero consistency or organization. What made it worse was watching other guests just grab food without scanning or paying, while those of us who actually paid for the pass were left dealing with broken systems and unhelpful employees. It was chaotic, stressful, and completely unfair. For families—especially those like ours trying to make memories with a special-needs child—this kind of experience is unacceptable. We paid extra for convenience and peace of mind, and instead we got confusion, chaos, and poor customer service. It honestly felt like nobody cared to fix the problem. There was no manager stepping up, no one taking ownership, and no real understanding of how the program should work. When you’re spending that much money, the very least you expect is basic competence and good customer service—and Water Country failed completely. We left feeling ripped off, disappointed, and angry. This was supposed to be a special day, but it became stressful and exhausting instead. Until Water Country trains its staff, fixes its scanners, and actually cares about the guests paying for these services, we will not be coming back—and I would warn anyone considering the All-Day Meal Pass to save your money and skip it. Water Country—you need to do better. Families deserve better.
