Visite o Museu Shell Cavtat

What a beautiful find! We spent some time at the shell museum and really enjoyed. The owner was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, very lovely. The admission fee was reasonable for the experience and goes towards keeping it going. There were not many others there at our visit so it was lovely and quiet, we had plenty of space to enjoy and take our time. This was a lovely experience for my partner and I. I also purchased a beautiful handmade bracelet made of ethically sourced shells, such a lovely keepsake of a beautiful town. I would definitely recommend.

We stumbled accross this beautiful exhibition on our day trip to Cavtat and spent a very pleasant hour learning about shells and the animals which lived in them. The collection includes shells from all over the world, many of which were collected by the owner and her family. She is clearly very passionate about the oceans and the animals who live in them. She was very friendly and happy to explain to us about some of the exhibits and answer our questions. If you get the chance to visit I would strongly recommend it, it is a truely one of a kind collection.

I love shells, so this museum was a must see. It did not disappoint. This family owned collection has been loving acquired over the years, showcasing a plethora of various exhibits from around the world. It is an affordable activity to suit all ages and worth a look if you are in Cavtat. Various shell themed items are available to purchase too.

A hidden gem We came to the shell museum this afternoon, it did not disappoint. The variety on display, the way everything had been presented and options if you are visiting with children was first class. Whatever the weather, make this a stop whilst you’re here. An original and rather improbable museum!

We visited this museum as we were staying in Cavtat and looking to experience something different than the bars and restaurants that we'd already visited. This museum has an amazing collection of shells, very well curated and displayed. It also has a fascinating video with some incredible shell facts. The lady who owned the museum was lovely and talked to us about her family collection and how they'd collected the shells from around the world. She also offered even offered us a couple of shells from her personal collection as my wife wanted some local shells. She also offers shells for sale. A lovely collection, highly recommended if you have an interest in nature and/or shells.

We visited recently during our stay in Cavtat and this small gem of a museum captured my heart. The love, care and passion of the curator and her family comes across in this unexpectedly moving experience. The shells are displayed beautifully and there is an atmosphere of reverence that honestly was so thoughtful and touching. Definitely worth a visit. Take your time and let the space and the shells captivate you.
