This is a great tour but a lot to cram into one day with such a large tour bus of people. We spent a lot of time waiting on the bus at appointed times for others. I feel like we needed more time at Chichén Itzá because there is so much more to explore there than we had time for. It was a good taste of each place we visited. I think next time we will opt for a smaller tour group. A couple of other things to note: 1. We were quoted one price on the ticket for the required tax, and charged another on the actual tour. 2. It would have been nice to know up front that there would be an additional $25 ea for bracelets that gave us “unlimited” drinks (including water which was supposed to be provided), pfd rental at the cenote (no actual charge at the site), and an additional charge for bug spray. (This should have been noted as necessary on the booking). Also because it was such a large and international group, a lot of information on the tour was lost or misunderstood by several people in the group. I do want to add, and end on a positive note, that our tour guides were very friendly and accommodating and provided excellent service throughout the day.
Listing states an Air conditioned van, English-Speaking Translator, pick-up and drop-off are included with Viator price. The only extra mandatory fee was a $20 conservation fee per person. We had no air conditioning, no English translator for my family, difficulty communicating with tour operator about transportation and we were held hostage at the ruins when told we had to pay an extra $140 on top of what Viator charged us. It was such a long day with two small children (of the 12 hour excursion, more than 5 were driving). Very, very disappointed. Viator should not work with this tour operator.
Great trip. The tour guides were knowledgeable and funny. I will warn people it is a long trip and brace yourself to be tired. We left at 7am and got back at 8pm. It is indeed indicated on the description but mentioning it again. The trip overall was great, I would say the last destination is really whatever. The first two are what you're really going there for. I would have loved to stay at the cenote longer but it is what it is. The bus had AC and was really comfortable. No complaints there. We got the premium plus package and food and drinks were provided and fairs as well. We only had to pay for the souvenirs and the locker and life vests (2 and 3 dollar usd respectively, it is cheaper in pesos though). The only thing I would improve is maybe provide the history during the bus ride in English a bit more polished. Well worth the money and would recommend to everyone!
