The guide was fabulous - very informative and interesting with a bit of fun thrown in. The tour set up itself did not take into consideration the extreme heat and also the promised air conditioned coach required a great deal of walking to get to it. A bit disappointing.
Tour guide was very disrespectful. Poking fun at the birth and death of Christ during the tour of the church. Now, on to the tour of the park. Beware. apparently it is a 2 mile walk. Next..There was myself (80 yrs old) and another gentleman with dementia and he walked at a pace we could not keep up with. At the end of the tour of the church he told us we could keep the ear pieces. I had the ear phones not the buds, as I wear hearing aids. He chastised me several times because I did not return mine. I did not know, nor was I trying to steal them. We ended up not going on the second part of the tour.
If I could give this company 0 stars I would. We booked this tour through Tripadvisor and it was through a company called Julia Travel 7.5 months in advance of our trip. We were incredibly excited to see Sagrada Famalia. The first part of the tour was very good. We went to Parc Guell and had a very friendly and knowledgable tour guide. After this portion of the tour we were told we needed to taxi over to a second office for of the Sagrada Famalia portion of our tour. Upon arrival at the next office we were told that they didn't have the proper tickets for us for our time slot and we need to instead visit Sagarada Famalia 3 hours later. We were told they had tried to send us a message on WhatsApp but there was no record of this. I let the woman at the counter know that we couldn't wait for hours as we had other plans later in the day already booked. We then had to wait a half an hour in the office while she begged other people to change their ticket times. After, finally finding a family willing to change their visit time she handed us tickets and told us we would be with a tour group about to leave. However, she didn't tell us that the tickets she gave me didn't include a visit to the towers of Sagrada Famaila like the tour we originally booked. We joined the tour anyway and the tour guide was very rude and decided to take it upon herself to admonish our autistic daughter making her cry for the crime of swinging the listening device that was hanging around her neck. At this point we chose to walk away and leave the tour. The company originally refused any refund for our tour through TripAdvisor and finally decided to give us 10% back when I threatened to file a complaint with my credit card company.
Both guides were knowledgeable and great. Our Sagrada guide, pointed out many interesting facts and info about Gaudi and the architecture Our park guide, Miguel, was particularly entertaining and enthusiastic.
Hello, I wanted to take a moment to share some feedback regarding my recent experience with the vendor for this tour. The itinerary I received was completely different from what was actually delivered, which led to a lot of confusion and inconvenience. According to the itinerary sent to me, I was supposed to be transported on an air-conditioned bus to Park Guell and then back to Sagrada Familia. I made plans for other activities based on this schedule, expecting that the tour would follow the original route. However, the actual tour began at Sagrada Familia instead, which I must say is a highly recommended destination. Unfortunately, I would not recommend visiting it through this vendor. After our Sagrada Familia tour, we were required to walk approximately 12 minutes from Sagrada to catch the bus. I was perplexed as to why the bus couldn't pick us up directly, this was not billed as a walking tour—just an unplanned walk. When we arrived at Park Guell, we were informed that the tour would end there, contradicting the itinerary which stated it would conclude at Sagrada Familia. This sudden change forced me to cut my tour short and skip Park Guell altogether so I could find my way back to the area near Sagrada Familia. This not only caused extra expenses but also resulted in me missing my other scheduled activities. Overall, the experience was disappointing and unreliable. I hope this feedback helps improve future tours, as the lack of adherence to the itinerary and poor communication caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. Thank you for your attention.
Dear castlessm, We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. Please note that all agencies have been informed that the version of this tour including transportation operates only on the 15:00 departure and begins at Sagrada Familia, as indicated in the activity description. Regarding the transfer between the two monuments, the coach parking location is designated by the Barcelona City Council. The pickup point used is the closest area where tourist coaches are permitted to park, which is why a short walk is required between Sagrada Familia and the bus. We are sorry for any confusion this may have caused and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Best regards,
We booked the Guided tour of Sagrada Família and Park Guell through Julia Tours. Originally we planned to book them on our own via the site’s websites but were disappointed to find that tickets were no longer available ( we left it to the week before our arrival). Julia tours had tickets to both locations and included transportation between both places. Our guide Aurelia was very knowledgeable, spoke English clearly and was friendly. She gave us a very thorough explanation of Sagrada Família, even allowing us some free time to look around some more. The walk to the bus was done at a fast pace and was s fair distance. I understand that parking near the Basilica is an issue but it did seem a bit excessively far. When we arrived at Park Guell I was pleased that the bus dropped us off at the top of the hill, so much easier to walk downhill than climb stairs. Aurelia kept an eye on us older folks and the younger ones, to make sure we were doing okay. The weather unfortunately didn’t cooperate but again Aurelia anticipated this and gave us a quick tour before finding us shelter from the rain. I would have preferred to do the park first, then the basilica as extra time at the basilica and the access to transportation is better at the basilica. I enjoyed the tour and Aurelia was an amazing guide!
Miguel and Marc were very knowledgeable and personable. They were well organized and helpful.if you only have a sort time in Barcelona, this is the tour to book.
Overall good, but too detailed. We would have liked to explore the park ourselves, but otherwise very good.
The park portion and our guide Delia was great. Our kids learned a lot, she interacted with them, found nice shady spots to give info since it was a sunny and hot day and made it a very relaxed and enjoyable experience. However when we arrived to Julia Tours for part 3, which we booked almost 8 months ago, we witnessed on selling passion tower tour tickets for the hour that we had booked to other families who were just walking into their offices. Then we were told that we could not get the tower tickets until 4 PM when our assigned time was 12. We could not accept that time due to other tickets later that day. The person working at the desk, proceeded to then trick my husband and tell him that he was getting what he paid for and handed him tickets which he thought included the towers. Then we get into our group only to find out that we did not have access. It was very unfair. Poor ethics. Obviously, they wanted to make more sales that day and have been unhelpful at resolving this. To make things worse, Our guide for the Sagrada Família portion, Sylvia, was very difficult to understand, rude and not understanding or respectful of children. She kept interrupting our tour to admonish guests not even in our group and was extremely scary scolding our daughter for simply swaying back and forth which is something she does as she’s a kid, but also because she’s on the spectrum. We couldn’t stand the guides attitude or canned speech anymore. We left midway through our chapel tour. The tower access purchased directly thru the Sagrada is $10 eu/person. We did upgrade to include this element thinking we were 109% reserved during pre booking (and paid more than their price for the selected option thru TripAdvisor) which was not honored by Julia travel. There is a material difference for the option and we will be pursuing it. Our paperwork does NOT give any stipulations that your tour time can be adjusted by 4 hours without warning nor did we receive advance warning from either operator that our selection was unavailable. If we had known even earlier in the day, we might’ve been able to move things around, but at the time of receiving bad news, it was too late to adjust any other plans. It’s clear this is a big company out for the bottom line and tourists are just a number.
The first part at the temple was a bit rushed and we didn't have many chances at all to ask questions
