O museu foi estabelecido no antigo prédio da KGB, onde os crimes do regime soviético foram planejados e executados por cinquenta anos. Os visitantes podem visitar: a antiga prisão da KGB, as instalações onde as sentenças de morte foram executadas, exposições modernas que falam sobre a perda da independência em meados do século 20, as repressões das autoridades soviéticas e a luta abnegada e persistente pela independência. Caminharemos na antiga prisão onde os presos políticos eram mantidos e torturados. Você verá onde e como eles foram mortos. Uma câmara de 19 é dedicada ao Holocausto judaico, porque 1941-1944 o edifício foi usado como sede da Gestapo e SD alemã e uma prisão, quartel do Sonderkommando da cidade de Vilnius, que matou judeus e outros. Em setembro de 2018, o Papa Francisco encerrou sua visita à Lituânia no museu da KGB e rezou pelas vítimas do regime soviético na Lituânia. O preço dos bilhetes 6EUR não está incluído no preço do passeio.

Reminded me of the struggles for Lithuanian independence which has made them vigilant in protecting their dignity and culture. There is a strong sense of pride and conservatism in Vilnius, an atmosphere of strength and resilience.
Perfect, wonderful, 100% real, mostly because the KGB conducted its operations in this very building, with the cells in the basement. An essential visit if you visit Vilnius

I recommend this visit, which is necessary, which allows us to know more about this part of history. The signs are well made. Nevertheless, the welcome of professionals is not pleasant...
We had a very good and informative guiding,- our guide Dorma had very good knowledge about everything at the museum and the history of Lithuania. We spent nearly two hours together and this was really excellent!!.
If you are in Vilnius carve out an hour to visit this museum which is semi-centrally located in a beautiful building just behind Gedimino prospekt. You will see the cells used to imprison Lithuanian patriots, the execution room, maps and period documents as well as very detailed historical descriptions. 6 euros well spent Visited Sunday, 20 October 2024 morning
immersive visit to the time of the KGB (small part on the Nazi occupation), we wander through the dungeons etc... very impressive.
We had a wonderful guided tour with Lukas in Vilnius. He knows his history and arranged most things for us. Very positive and nice guy. Highly recommended 😊
Excellent tour. I highly recommend. Fascinating content and history telling. Lucas was very passionate and knowledgeable, which made his explanations about the awful history of KGB very fascinating. Both myself and my daughter really enjoyed it. 5 stars!
Extensive material that depicts life during the Russian occupation, the road to liberation of Lithuania and the horrors of deportation. The KGB prison is very moving and definitely not for the faint hearted
