O Fórum Civil é o núcleo da vida diária da cidade e é o ponto focal de todos os principais edifícios públicos para a administração da cidade e justiça, gestão de negócios e atividades comerciais, como mercados, bem como os principais locais de culto dos cidadãos.
O Templo de Júpiter domina o lado norte do Fórum, com o Monte Vesúvio elevando-se para trás. Quando a colônia foi fundada (80 aC), o templo passou por uma renovação radical e tornou-se um verdadeiro Capitólio com as três estátuas de Júpiter, Juno e Minerva, que se pareciam com as do Capitólio em Roma, colocadas em uma base elevada. para torná-los visíveis para quem passasse na praça do Fórum.
O Macellum consiste em um quadriporticus de tufo com um salão para adoração em uma posição elevada no lado oriental, em linha com a entrada. Via dell'Abbondanza era a antiga rua principal (decumanus maximus) da antiga Pompeia, que cruzava a cidade na direção leste / oeste do Fórum até a Porta Sarno. Antigamente, a rua era movimentada e barulhenta, com muitas lojas, oficinas ("officinae"), cafés, lanchonetes e restaurantes para comer e beber.
Os Banhos do Fórum estão localizados atrás do Templo de Júpiter e datam dos anos imediatamente após a fundação da colônia de veteranos pelo General Silla (80 aC). O Lupanar de Pompeia é o bordel mais famoso das ruínas da cidade romana de Pompeia. É de particular interesse para as pinturas eróticas em suas paredes. Lupanar significa "bordel" em latim. O Pompeii lupanar também é conhecido como Lupanare Grande. As prostitutas do bordel eram em sua maioria escravas gregas e orientais que recebiam entre dois e oito asnos (uma taça de vinho custava um As) por seus serviços.

Very pleasant experience despite the scorching heat of the day. Everything is extremely well organized: the morning visit to Pompeii, before the influx of tourists, the quick but efficient lunch at the restaurant, or even the time left for the ascent of Mount Vesuvius. The guides had incredible energy. If some people are still hesitating to hire a guide, after this experience we can assure you that it is non-negotiable. An activity to absolutely do if you are visiting Sorrento or the surrounding area!

It was definitely worth getting up early to beat the crowds. Our guide, Lou Lou, was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable and she made the visit great fun. My husband and I had a wonderful time learning some history, science, and archeology from our tour guide. He was very open to and knowledgeable about the questions we had. It was great to skip the very long line wanting to enter Pompeii. Our guide, Roberta was efficient ,friendly and above all extremely knowledgeable. It was a hot day and the 21/2-3 hours was plenty long enough for us. Roberta gave those that wished to stay longer that option. An amazing experience made easy to negotiate by following our guide Roberta.
