My tour guide Mei was an absolute delight. She was informative, adaptable, kind, and helpful. During the tour, despite a planned itinerary, she adapted as we went through the market changing suggested items based on my preferences. Since she spent time living in New York and Canada, her English was perfect and I can’t decide whether the food or our conversation was my favorite part of the tour. What I found particularly unique about this tour is that I was the only one who signed up for the tour on this particular tour, and I have been on other tours in other places where a minimum number of participants are needed or the tour is cancelled. Instead, it was just me and Mei and it probably worked better for me because with other guests, I doubt we would have been able to make the changes on the fly like we did. One thing that I missed in the tour info is that cash is needed in the market, so make sure you have bills and coins with which to pay. Some of the stores selling merchandise like cutlery or spices or snacks did take credit cards, so have both cash and a card readily available. Highly recommend!
Great Mei and Mayu were great guides! Super fun expirence and was able to try many foods.
Fantastic day exploring Tsukiji Market with Mayu and Mei. They were fun, kind and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Ask Jo to bring you to Sushi Kiyo- the upstairs is lovely.
We had a great time with Koshiro-san, he taught us a lot and had some great recommendations for food!
The only reason this tour received two stars is because the guide (Kyle) nice and did his best, this wasn’t his fault. However, it was completely misleading advertising as a food tour if no food is actually included. I’ve been on countless food tours around the world, and this was the only one that didn’t provide any food, making it by far the most disappointing! The listing clearly stated that tastings are included so it feels like a scam. For $160, we expected a true food experience, not simply someone accompanying us through the market. That’s something we could have easily done on our own. We took another food tour in Shinjuku the other day for the same money and it was amazing, and they gave us more food than we could eat. Would never give this company business again and do not recommend.
Thank you for your feedback and for joining our tour. We’re glad to hear that Kyle did his best to make your experience enjoyable. We’re very sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. While our listing does state that food is not included, we understand that the wording may have caused confusion, and we sincerely apologize for that. Your feedback is very valuable to us, and we are currently reviewing how we present the tour to make it clearer for future guests. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.
We were ready for an amazing time based in the reviews but the tour fell well short of that. It only lasted for a little over an hour and our guide, Ran, read half of her printed out notes and did not discuss the culture, fish market or anything of relevance in the Japanese culture. It seemed like it was her first time as a tour guide and we expected a lot more for our family outing
Thank you very much for joining our tour. Due to a smaller number of participants on the day and the market conditions, such as crowd levels, the tour may sometimes end earlier than usual. However, we sincerely regret that we were not able to provide a satisfying experience despite these circumstances. We will also strengthen our training and guidance for our tour guides so that they can offer deeper insights into Japanese culture and the market. Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. We will use it to improve our services going forward.
I made an error and was a day late, but the company honoured our tickets for the next day. Very kind, they didn’t have to. Our guide Kyle, was thoughtful and patient started with a Buddhist temple introduction. Then off to the food market where we eat our way through many tasty seafoods from sea urchin to whale meat and everything in between! Got a chance to sneak through the commercial sea food section then sat down to a light lunch. After a lively discussion about all things Canadian and the local red light district we said our goodbyes. Lovely.
Good tour. Very friendly and likeable. Very knowledgeable about all the sights and sounds of the market. Good recommendations for food.
Amazing tour with many lovely places to try food! Mayu was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!
