An incredible experience. The driver, Mr. Duc was welcoming, punctual and took us to an additional church on the way home as a recommendation. The guide, Mr. Tam, was exceptional and loved answering all our questions. He drew on personal experience of the war and extensive knowledge to provide an extremely thorough tour. Both Mr. Duc and Mr. Tam went out of their way to tailor the experience to our specific interests, making the tour particularly memorable. Perfect for anyone interested in the history of the DMZ.
The guide (Ms Hai) was very informative and very nice. listening to her narrate the conflict while also mentioning her family and personal experiences surrounding it left a much deeper impact. overall, we learnt a lot about the political history of vietnam and how much the people have struggled for freedom and independence. it was an amazing experience and we would highly recommend. The driver (Mr Duc) was also very polite even though it was an exhausting day for him
What a fantastic day. Although it was a long journey from Da Nang (around four hours each way), it was absolutely worth every minute. Our driver, Mr. Đứcc, was excellent throughout the trip. He was punctual, professional, courteous, and drove safely, making the long journey comfortable and enjoyable. The scenic drive over the Hải Vân Pass and past the beautiful lagoons was a great way to start the day. Our guide, Ms. Thach, was outstanding. Her knowledge of the Vietnam War and the DMZ was exceptional, and she brought the history to life with detailed explanations and fascinating insights. She was engaging, professional, and happy to answer questions throughout the tour. Together, they made for a first-class experience. The DMZ is a powerful and important place to visit, and having such a knowledgeable guide and diligent driver made the trip truly memorable. Highly recommended for anyone staying in Da Nang who wants to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s history. A very long day, but one that we will remember for a long time. 👍👍👍
I had a great time and learned a lot. I am a historian and came with very specific questions. Ms. Hai was an excellent guide and willing to answer all of my many questions. Mr. Phuc is a great driver! Thank you
I looked up the best operators to do this private tour. Without doubt this was worth the money from start to finish. Mr Phuoc was the driver and was there a few minutes before we came down. He was courteous and attentive. His driving throughout the day was careful and considerate and he made us feel safe throughout - something you cannot take for granted in SE Asia. We picked up Ms Hai and she immediately explained the tour and what we would do. She then started to explain all the history of how the Vietnamese War (American War) came to be. She explained the french rule and how that ended and transitioned into the war with the USA. Her knowledge was extensive but she pitched it at a really understandable level that made everything completely clear. Throughout the day she brought the places we visited to life with more information and stories from the war. My wife and I absolutely recommend this tour if you really want to know the detail of the struggle of the Vietnamese people.
I was tempted to give 4 stars because of these two negatives. However I won’t because one of them I knew about ahead of time and another is personal to just me. -you are driving in a car for 4-5 hours. Out of the 9 hours you are driving for have of it - be aware. -if you’re super knowledgeable about Vietnam war history, this actually might not be as mind blowing as you’d expect. I’m a history teacher and I guess I didn’t find myself too “wow’d”. Nevertheless our tour guide Ms. Hai and the driver Mr. Hao were awesome. Very personable, very informative, paced the tour to our liking (we skipped a spot and spent more time at another, we weren’t rushed on anything we wanted to see). They both answered our questions on anything we asked. Driving was a little crazy and aggressive but that is every driver in Vietnam so just accept / expect that and you’ll be good. Ms. Hai was very clear in her details and story telling of various history, and Mr. Hao had a great sense of humor and was very respectful and fun to cruise with. Khe sanh was a big field that has been remodeled with fake trenches and replica sfuff, and a few US tanks / aircraft that were salvaged to post up at the spot. Still cool to see and be there. The tunnels were super awesome. Hard to move around in but easy compared to the really small and tourist crowded cu chi tunnels outside of Saigon. What I did like about the very long drive was how ‘deep’ we went into the countryside. You def got to experience and get a taste of rural Vietnam and places not traveled too much by tourists. Overall I’ll still give this 5 stars and would recommend to anyone that is a history buff. Just be ready to spend half the tour in a car.
Really enjoyed this tour especially with Ms Trach! Wow she was so knowledgeable and engaging. A very moving trip. She also took us to a local pho place for lunch. Driver from Hue was on time and safe. Highly recommend this tour.
The driver Mr. Lan spoke very good English and was very friendly and easy to communicate with. The guide Ms. Thach was very knowledgeable and provided lots of interesting information about the war and tunnels. Highly recommend this tour.
I found Ma Thach and Mr Hao to be wonderful and knowledgable hosts. I asked to be taken to the DMZ above Hue . Ms Thach was extremely knowledgable of the history of Vietnam, its colonization period and the factors leading up to the more recent war. Her local perspective definitely changed my perpsective.in a most positive way. The expedition was well worth it. I highly recommend it, thank you
I had a great time on this private tour to the DMZ and a side trip to the Khe Sahn. Mr Lieu, my driver did an excellent job getting us around the sites and took some very professional looking photos of me at a couple of stops. Highly recommended, very professional company. I hope to use them again some day.
