The tour is 4 hours depending on traffic into and out of the city. They start with a visit to a fortress. Our hour had 2 vans with the guide in the other van; however, they were able to have his audio in our van via a cell phone connection through the van speakers. While I appreciate the use of technology the connection was not always optimal as it would often be static or cut out. The tour operator notified us the day before the event that the tour would start 30 minutes later than anticipated, which put us in a time crunch and our guide was great about accommodating us due to this late start. The underground cave was amazing and we were transitioned to a guide at the actual lake. This was a little confusing as we were only allocated 50 minutes at this venue but we were at the mercy of the sea grotto guide so we didn’t have as much time here to explore as we would have liked. The wine tasting came last and was accompanied by some bread, cheese and sauces. We were able to try 3 white wines and 1 red wine. Overall, this was a really great trip. The only reason for 4 stars was the late notice in the delayed start time and the guides audio while in the van along with the lack of clarity on the transition at the cave. I would still recommend this adventure though.
We really enjoyed the wine tasting and the boat ride on the lake in the limestone mine was very cool. Interesting history of how the cave was used during WWII. Different guide in the mine. However, the ride through Vienna was very disjointed. Our tour guide was in the other vehicle and we heard him through the phone. Timing was off on his descriptions but Boris our driver was kind enough to point things out as we passed although did not speak. Did not get much out of the ride through the city or the visit to Lichtenstein castle. I would recommend this tour if you wanted a ‘day off’ touring. I thought it expensive.
My direct experience with this business was very disappointing. The staff interaction I had was unhelpful, and the customer service fell far below what I expected. Instead of feeling welcomed or assisted, I felt dismissed and frustrated. The way the situation was handled made the overall experience unpleasant, and I would not return or recommend this business to others.
Very good Experience. Nicely managed and organized. The wine selection was Good . I guess it depends on the days which winery shop is open. The underground boat. The face of the picture was also a true experience and the guide was Good as well .
Very comfortable Mercedes runner vans. Reasonably sized (12 person as opposed to the 30-40 person bus trips) personal tour. Good information on the drive to the stops. Underground lake was beautiful and the history behind the lake was amazing. I would recommend a blanket or jacket because it is about 40° F in the tunnels. Wine stop was a very nice small family winery in a gorgeous area. We had Ivan as our driver who spoke enough English to make us laugh a couple times. Taras was the main tour guide who made sure we had everything we needed and had great stories and information about all aspects of the trip. I would highly recommend this tour!
This was a great way to see parts of Vienna outside of the hustle of the city. We enjoyed all parts of this trip; booking it I thought the lake tour was the highlight but the entire trip was very enjoyable. If you need time away from the city, this is a must do.
Guide was great, very knowledgeable about local history. The lake was amazing. Definitely a must see.
The driver and guides were all fantastic. Vienna is such a beautiful place, it was nice to see the sights and also hear about the history. Although it would have been nice to have had a little extra time on the wine tour, this felt a little rushed.
Excellent tour with excellent guide and good and comfortable transports. Punctual, knowledgeable and very attentive.
This a wonderful tour for the price point and time commitment. Taras our guide was amazing. We learned a lot about Vienna, wine and the culture and how the country works politically and everyday life.
