I had a great time visiting the Pacaya Samiria National Park in July 2024, for a 6 days trip. Everything was organised smoothly, from pick-up to drop-off. We spent 6 days/5 nights in the reservation. First night in a local village, 3 nights camping by the side of the river, last night back in the village. I was travelling solo and I had a whole crew dedicated to me (a native guide, a translator, a boat driver and a cook). The native guide is super knowledgeable and has impressive skills for finding the wildlife. We were able to see dolphins, monkeys, caymans, anaconda (the native guide was actually able to capture one in the wild) and some feline. Would definitely come back for a longer trip, highly recommended.
Unforgettable experiences with Amazon Explorer to the Pacaya Samiria national park. I have had the privilege of going with Amazon Explorer to the Amazon rainforest three times, and each trip was unique and unforgettable. My adventure with Amazon Explorer in 2008 was a week full of discoveries. The guide was knowledgeable and passionate, allowing me to experience the jungle on a deeper level. We explored beautiful unspoiled areas, learned about unique flora and fauna, and learned about local culture. The accommodation was comfortable and the food delicious and authentic. This trip fueled my love for the Amazon.
An amazing company which adapts to your needs ! I booked the Pacaya Samiria tour and spent an incredible week exploring the amazon rainforest. All activities were meticulously planned, the guides are trained professionals ready for absolutely anything. A skilled translator was also provided to overcome language barriers and we still keep in touch regularly ! They even went the extra mile to get us some fresh suri worms when we said we couldn't find any. Hector and his team are truly flawless. I highly recommend Amazon Explorer to any adventurous soul seeking an unforgettable journey.
We went on a 5 day private camping expedition in Pacaya Samaria national reserve. The first night we slept in a cabin in the little jungle village of Buenos Aires, the other three nights we camped in the wildernis. For us, it was an adventurous, fun, safe and authentic Amazon experience!! Our team consisted of our guide Tito, local guide Lorenzo, cook Lourdes and captain Segundo. They were all very lovely and took great care of us. Tito en Lorenzo made sure we saw as many animals as possible. We saw an anteater, many monkeys, dolphins, a sloth, otters, crocodiles and much more. Lourdes’ food was very good and more than enough. Segundo took great care of the boat and for exploring, we took many boat rides on the canoe. We also did some short hikes, but due to the high river season most of the explorations were done by canoe. We went on exploration trips 3-4 times a day depending on whether we had to travel also. The first trip was before breakfast and started early (5:30-6:00), after breakfast followed a jungle trek, after lunch another canoe trip or trek and every night a night trek! The team always asked for our preferences, so the trip will be customised to your wishes and needs. The day after our trip Tito also took us to the Belen market and floating houses in Iquitos to show us around there, which was impressive and a must see to really understand Iquitos. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this trip with Amazon Explorer!
