Salvatore was an amazing tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant to be around.. was very welcoming and new every inch of the tour. he was very good at time management as far as keeping the tour on time.. highly recommend this tour and if you get Salvatore, that’s even better! Eduardo the driver did excellent and keep us safe and 90° turns on mountain roads going up to the Swiss Alps.
This was, without question, one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. The journey aboard the iconic red train through the Swiss Alps was absolutely breathtaking. Every turn revealed another incredible view towering mountains, sparkling alpine lakes, glaciers, charming villages, and scenery that looked like it belonged on a postcard. What truly made this excursion exceptional was our tour guide, Salvatore. His knowledge of both Switzerland and Italy was remarkable, and he shared fascinating insights into the history, culture, geography, and traditions of the regions we traveled through. He didn’t simply point out landmarks he explained what we were seeing and why it was significant, making the entire experience far more meaningful. One thing we especially appreciated was how he regularly used maps to help us understand where we were and where we were headed. That extra effort really helped us get our bearings and better appreciate the journey. Salvatore was also incredibly friendly, personable, and approachable. He created a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we boarded and made everyone feel comfortable throughout the day. A special thank you also goes to our driver, Eduardo, who was professional, friendly, and made the trip smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. If you’re visiting Italy and have the opportunity to take this Swiss Alps tour, don’t hesitate. The spectacular scenery, the unforgettable ride on the red train, and the outstanding service from Salvatore and Eduardo make this an experience you’ll remember for years to come. I would enthusiastically recommend this tour to anyone looking for an unforgettable day.
The Tour Guide with the excellent skills and great knowledge. Also she was very friendly and she was looking after all of us.
At first we expected to have had free time viewing St Moritz local area. But, unfortunately we have got stuck by traffic on the motorway during on the way to St Moritz. There were no time to walk surrounding the area. Sadly, We mostly ended up on the coach and on the train. Respect to the driver and a tour leader trying hard to manage the situation. Also the management company which they gave us a gesture refund a little money
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry that heavy motorway traffic significantly impacted your day and meant there wasn't enough time to explore St. Moritz as planned. Unfortunately, traffic conditions are beyond our control, but we understand how disappointing this must have been. We're pleased to hear that our driver and tour leader did their best to manage the situation, and we're glad you appreciated the goodwill refund provided by our management team. Your comments are valuable and will help us continue improving our tours. We hope we'll have the opportunity to welcome you again for a smoother experience in the future.
City Wonders Failed to Manage a Simple Seating Issue That Ruined the Experience
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. The situation you described is not typical of our tours. While seating on the coach is not assigned in advance, we use comfortable buses, and our tour coordinators are there to help organize the group and assist guests throughout the day. We would appreciate the opportunity to better understand what happened. If you're willing, please contact our Customer Care team directly with your booking details so we can investigate your experience and address your concerns. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
The tour was amazing! The views were very great and the locations were very scenic. Maja, the tour guide was super friendly and amazing at making us have a great time! She took the time to explain at each part of the tour the different cities, landmarks and their history. At Bernina express she was telling us when to look for amazing views and she was overall great. Special thanks to Antonio the driver of the bus. He was a great driver and the ride was very pleasant. Definitely recommended! They both made us feel at ease and made us enjoy the tour. Thank you for the amazing experience!
Unforgettable tour from booking to meet up to the bus ride to the train ride. Exceptionally well organised. Highly skilled bus driver, never felt unsafe. Kind, amazing, highly knowledgeable tour guide who took excellent care of the group. The tour is a feast for the eyes, truly an unforgettable experience. The beauty of the Apls, the Apline villages, St Moritz, the lakes is a memory that will stay with us a lifetime. As if this was not already exceptional, we lost an ipad during the tour and we emailed the tour operator. They said they will check with the bus company, and indeed, it was found. Truly amazing, and so grateful. 100% recommended!
Great experience, organized and comfortable, Hajo was our guide, she and the driver were both great !
Warning to anyone considering this St. Moritz day trip: the itinerary provided by Viator was completely different from what we actually received. According to the itinerary, the bus ride to our destination was supposed to be about 1.5 hours. In reality, we spent over four hours on the bus. The itinerary also listed two stops where we were supposed to have time to walk around and enjoy the towns, totaling about 90 minutes. Instead, we were given only 30 minutes at a train station to quickly grab a snack and use the restroom. There was nowhere meaningful to take photos unless you wanted a lovely background of fencing or train station chaos. We were also supposed to stop for 45 minutes in the town of Tirano, but that did not happen either. We were given about 15 minutes near a public bathroom, which was honestly awful. There was a long line, and the facilities were so bad I could barely use them. For a family of five, we spent over $700, and the entire day felt like we were either on a bus or a train. The views were beautiful, but mostly from far away or while moving. The itinerary made it seem like we would actually have time to walk around, enjoy the towns, and experience the area. That was not the case. Most disappointing of all, the tour guide provided almost no information the entire time. While we were on the bus, she shared no facts, no history, and no details about what we were seeing. She probably spoke about eight sentences total, and most of that was only after people started asking about the timing and lack of stops. I have used Viator for many tours and usually have great experiences, but when I reached out to try to find a resolution, I was told there was nothing they could do. Viator is the one providing the itinerary, while the tour company is saying that itinerary is not theirs. There is clearly a major disconnect, and the customer ends up paying the price. My advice: save your money on this one. If you want to visit St. Moritz, actually go visit St. Moritz. Do not spend $700+ to sit on buses, trains, and bathroom lines all day. I added pictures of the itinerary and of the bus that we spent over 60% of our trip on.
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that the day did not meet your expectations. As noted in our tour description, travel times and the duration of stops are approximate and may vary significantly due to traffic, border crossings, road conditions, and operational requirements. During high season, these factors can unfortunately result in longer coach journeys and shorter stops than originally anticipated. Our tour leaders are there to coordinate the logistics of the day and provide information throughout the journey. While this tour is designed as a scenic day trip that combines coach travel with the iconic Bernina Express route, we understand it may not be the right choice for travelers looking for extended time exploring each destination on foot. We will certainly share your comments with our guiding team and will use it to continue improving both our tour information and the overall guest experience.

Dear Melissa_M, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry that your experience did not align with the original schedule. On the day of your tour, severe train delays disrupted our timeline, which unfortunately was entirely outside of our control. To ensure the group could still complete the journey, adjustments had to be made on the fly. As noted on your booking voucher, our itineraries are subject to modifications when operational needs or unexpected delays arise. We also take your comments regarding the guide's communication seriously and will address this with our team to ensure better updates are provided during unexpected disruptions.
