Entre na antiga cidade de Penjikent, que já foi um centro próspero ao longo da Grande Rota da Seda. Mergulhe na rica história dos Sogdianos, uma antiga civilização que prosperou entre os séculos V e VIII dC. Explore as ruínas da Antiga Panjakent e testemunhe os vestígios de uma época passada. Visite o mausoléu de Muhammad Bashoro é um monumento arquitetônico no Tajiquistão (Mazar-i-Sharif) (séculos XI-XII). Em 1342-43, um grande santuário em arco profundo e pequenas salas no canto, bem como uma série de corredores, foram construídos na mistura. A antiga Panjakent está localizada perto da atual Panjakent e representa um monumento único do início da Idade Média. Nos séculos 5-8 era a cidade mais oriental de Sogdiana Sarazm é o primeiro Patrimônio Mundial do Tajiquistão. Este é um povoado com uma história de cinco mil e quinhentos anos. Palácios e edifícios religiosos bem preservados, edifícios públicos e residenciais são de grande valor histórico e cultural.

A leste de Panjakent, numa estrada fora da autoestrada principal, encontrará o Mausoléu de Mukhammad Bashoro numa pequena aldeia chamada Mazari Sharif. Foi construído aqui por volta dos séculos 11 ou 12 em homenagem ao estudioso islâmico Mukhammad Bashoro que lhe deu o nome, que era um especialista em 'khadises'.
A antiga Panjakent foi fundada aqui já no século V aC, como parte da civilização Sogdiana. No entanto, foi no século V dC que realmente começou a florescer. A cidade teria crescido significativamente naquele momento, cobrindo grande parte desta área elevada pela qual estou perambulando. Haveria templos, fortalezas e grandes mansões para os residentes mais ricos.
O mercado de Panjakent está movimentado e sinto como se tivesse sido apanhada por uma onda de mulheres vestidas com flores e lenços na cabeça, puxadas pelo seu movimento através do portão ornamentado para o local. A correria matinal começou e, por todo o mercado, sacos plásticos estão sendo preenchidos com frutas e legumes, nozes e doces
Este elegante museu de um só andar, com colunas dóricas brancas e bela exposição floral, reserva uma sala ao seu homônimo, Abu Abdullah Rudaki (858–941), o “pai da poesia persa”. O museu é mais interessante, no entanto, pela exposição de têxteis e trajes, pelos afrescos encontrados na Antiga Penjikent e pelas ferramentas neolíticas da vizinha Sarazm.
A coisa mais significativa para ver perto de Panjakent é Sarazm, os restos de uma cidade ainda mais antiga do que aquela fundada aqui pelos Sogdianos. Sarazm foi fundada por volta de 3.500 a.C. e é provavelmente a cidade mais antiga da Ásia Central. As pessoas daqui tornaram-se adeptas da agricultura e da produção de bens para o comércio, tornando-se um importante centro rico na região.

Parvina was a great guide. She greeted me and listened to what I wanted. She was very informative, best part was stopping on side of the road to eat 3 types of mulberries growing wild. All the sights were perfect and having a chat with the Sheikh while being treated to fresh yogurt, bread and tea was perfect. The drivers in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were great. BRING PATIENCE because the border crossing is on foot and takes some time 50 minutes in and 35 minutes out. Otherwise a wonderful day trip in perfect weather I would do again with friends.
Sarazm, a proto urban Bronze Age city site. 5 to 6 thousand years old. A UNESCO site that marks the development of settlements in Central Asia. It was the first stop and very interesting. A great day trip to Panjakent from Samarkand. The Mazari-Sharif mausoleum was also an interesting stop. Farooq, the guide for the day was great.

We were hesitant to book this tour initially due to the higher cost and low amount of reviews, but we were so happy we ended up booking it! Dont let any of that stuff stop you from booking this tour, it is definitely worth it. Everything was so well organized and everything is covered for you throughout the entire trip. The driver takes you to the Uzbek side of the border, you walk through immigration, and your guide meets you right at the gate on the Tajik side, super easy and seamless process. The tour is amazing and covers all bases. It is a great introductory trip to Tajikistan and you get to get feel for the hospitality, food, history, and culture. We enjoyed our time so much we are planning another trip to central asia so we can travel Tajikistan fully. Our guide Shamsiddin and our driver from the Uzbek side were absolutely amazing, they made our experience a 10/10. I really wish i had written down the name of our driver, he was one of my favorite people ive gotten to meet on my travels, he was an absolute legend. If you have a free day get your passport stamped and take this trip!
