We got a taxi from Agios Georgios to corfu port early to make sure we were there on time. Waited for nearly an hour for the tour bus to pick us up at the port but nobody showed up and we ended up calling the company to find out what was happening only to be told that the trip had been cancelled. It would've been good to have been notified of the cancellation the night before not when we were waiting at the port. Managed to get our taxi fare reimbursed and taken back to hotel. Waste of a day.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS OUTFIT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!! I booked this trip through LetsBookTravelCorfu totally unaware that they use a 3rd party who I have since found out are the only ones doing this trip from Corfu. I booked this as a 32nd anniversary present for my wife and I and we were both thoroughly looking forward to it. Pick was arranged for 7am but by 10 past no bus had arrived I called the number I had been given and the manager on the phone said it was their fault and that it was cancelled the day before but they did not tell lets book or me. HOWEVER I have since found out they were LYING as the trip did go ahead maybe they couldn't be bothered to come to my hotel Mediterranean Blue but whatever reason they did it was an UTTER LIE . So instead we had an anniversary to remember for all the wrong reasons utterly disgraceful unprofessional behaviour. So you would think that Let's Book Travel would be very apologetic NOPE NOT AN APOLOGY WHATSOEVER so if you want to gamble with this outfit on your own heads be it as you have now been forewarned. But here is the best bit Let's Book Travel will sting you for 115 euros pp but if you wait till you get to Corfu book your trips through the hotel as it would have only cost 75 euros so not only do they not give a monkey's about you they are fleecing EVERYONE DAFT ENOUGH to book through them for 40 euros. So if after reading this your still tempted to book this jolly via Let's Book Travel then I suggest that you urgently seek medical attention. Remember the saying fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me so consider this your 1st time !!!
It was breathtaking and picturesque. Our tour guide Irena and her colleague were articulate and highly organised. The driver was alert and trustworthy. Highly recommended to friends and colleagues.
Do not book a tour with this operator “Let’s Book Travel”. A horrible experience at the hands of an inept and rude outfit. Very poor communication prior to the trip and I had to constantly contact them to get any information at all. They established a pick up at 5:50am at a hotel and I woke up at 4:30am to walk through a town in the middle of the night to get to the pick up point at 5:30am. They never showed up, they never contacted me to ensure pick up. Not a text or phone call. When I called their office, they were probably asleep and very rude. They insisted a driver was where I was standing in front of the hotel in some sort of vehicle but not a bus …. The only manned vehicles in the area at the time were three taxis at the taxi rank in front of the hotel. Their office offered no solutions, no alternatives. I asked them to call the driver so he could return to pick me up. Not possible. I asked if I could take a taxi to the ferry. Too far away. They suggested I was at the wrong spot, the same spot from where I had taken another tour two days prior. They suggested I got there late, when in fact I was 20 minutes early. No consideration, no sympathy, no customer care. I suppose the driver was running late and skipped my pick up. Save yourself a heap of grief and stay away from this shady outfit and tour.
The journey was a bit long but worth it! The view was great and the monasteries very interesting. The guides were very friendly and translated the information into several languages so that everyone understood
Well organised, nothing to complain about. Meteora was really impressive. A long trip from corfu but definitely doable and worth it.
Meteora is a unique place, the best way to see it would be in two days staying there but in our case it was not possible and we decided to take the day trip. Our hotel was in Sidari so we went in the rental car to Corfu where we picked one of the stops. We left at 4.15 in the morning, the bus arrived 10 minutes later than planned (advise with room for people to be punctual), all very well, we had a breakdown in the bus and fixed it very quickly so we did not miss the ferry. We saw sunrise on the ferry and then 2h and 20 minutes from Igoumenitsa to Kalambaca. There they stop 20 minutes for souvenirs and bath and go to the monasteries. We didn't see the big meteor because it was overcrowded but the English Guide gave us very good explanations about the two we saw, Varlaam and Santa Barbara. It only gives time to see two, they take us down to Kalambaca to eat (we take our own sandwiches) and the return journey becomes very long, we arrive at the hotel destroyed. But in general the guides and the organization a 10, if you go alone between ferry, tolls, gasoline, parking lots and travel fatigue already compensates for what it costs.
The guide was very helpful throughout the tour, the schedule was well timed, visiting the Meteora was specatcular, the lunch was really great, the transportation (both coach and ferry) were really good. Overall, it was a really great experience and I would definitely recommend signing up to this tour.
We left you in a souvenir shop 30 min where there were no drinks or coffee dwafter starting the tour at 5.30 in the morning. The food took us all to a restaurant that we had 1 hour to eat. And they could do with a little more disguise to give the guide the commission.
Meteora is definitely worth a visit! The floating monasteries are simply fascinating! The tour was well organized and you learned a lot of interesting information on the trip. Two convents were visited and the tours were conducted in different languages. The only downside for us was that our hotel was not in the catchment area and we had to travel independently. The problem with this was that we were ordered to one of the first pick-up points and thus drove around for another 1.5 hours to pick up all guests. We would have preferred to come straight to the ferry. Otherwise a top event!
