Entrando na Normandia, você visitará a casa de Claude Monet, o pai do "Impressionismo". Durante esta viagem de meio dia, você descobrirá em um grupo pequeno os famosos jardins criados pelo pintor impressionista e a conhecida ponte japonesa no meio de seus caminhos floridos e lagoas de lírios.

Esta viagem de meio dia o levará até a fronteira da Normandia, onde você visitará a casa idílica de Claude Monet. Lá, obtenha um acesso sem filas ao entrar no jardim com seu guia pela entrada especial para pequenos grupos! Você terá a oportunidade de descobrir que a preciosa coleção de gravuras japonesas é exibida em várias salas, pendurada na marmer escolhida pelo mestre do próprio Giverny. A propriedade de Claude Monet em Giverny, deixada por seu filho para a Académie des Beaux-arts em 1966, após a conclusão de trabalhos de restauração em larga escala, tornou-se a Fundação Claude Monet, inaugurada em 1980. O enorme estúdio Nymphéas, a poucos passos do casa, também foi restaurada e contém a loja da Fundação.
Você também desfrutará de um tempo nos jardins que foram replantados como antes e oferecerá aos visitantes a "pintura da natureza" que os contemporâneos de Claude Monet consideraram uma de suas obras-primas. O Clos Normand retangular, com arcadas de trepadeiras entrelaçadas em torno de arbustos de cores brilhantes, fica diante da casa e dos estúdios, oferecendo da primavera ao outono a paleta de cores variadas ao pintor-jardineiro que estava "extasiado com as flores".
Por fim, o Jardim das Águas, formado por um tributário do Epte, fica mais longe, sombreado por salgueiros-chorões. Com sua famosa ponte japonesa, suas wistarias, azáleas e seu lago, tornou-se mais uma vez o caixão de céu e água que inspirou o universo pictórico dos nenúfares.

Matthieu was excellent - so polite, knowledgeable, and a true local expert. He drove us in a lovely air conditioned van to Giverny at 8am, and shared some history and local anecdotes along the way. We arrived quicker than expected, and generously took us to the grave of Claude Monet before the museum opened with our extra time. He walked us to the entrance of the museum and met us after our exploration back at the exit. Our drive back to the city was smooth and pleasant. We loved our experience - one of the highlights of our family trip to Paris! Merci Matthieu!!
Ask for Matthew on the 8 person van. Very informative, gardens were beautiful and the house was amazing. Beat all the crowds as were on the 8:00 am tour. Even visited church in town (Monet’s tomb). Again Matthew was the best !
Dario was a fantastic host and guide as we were the only two on the trip. And the gardens and home were a great place to visit and enjoy Monet!

Our guide drove us there and only started talking about Monet and Giverny as we approached our destination. When we arrived at the house, there was a very long line to get in and it was a very hot day. He gave us pointers about how to structure the visit to reduce the wait time and left us on our own. I understand that guides do not go into the house but I would have thought he would have stayed with us for most of the rest of the visit with more commentary any maybe take some photos of us in the garden rather than having to rely on strangers. There was a guide with people in front of us who was explaining things right up until they entered the house. Basically, we paid a lot of money for a ride in a nice SUV to Giverny. He was very nice but we expected more.
It was a wonderful experience. Summer is hot 🔥 dress lightly. If you are a handicapped anyway , be warned that you must walk stairs to go in the house and the gift shop. It is well worth the trip! Beautiful french countryside on the way.

We saw a good representative sample of everything. Matt was friendly and informative and a safe driver. A good guide. The gift shop was spacious and set out a variety of of merchandise with a range of prices.
Don’t miss this great side trip. The gardens are breathtaking and the house is interesting. The trip From Paris was comfortable. The guide was delightful.

Very lovely but go early to avoid crowds & heat. The gardens do not disappoint, & the village is sweet
Great driver and learned all t before we arrived. Enjoyed how he walked us into the garden snd spoke to us befor leaving. Giverny was terribly over crowded. Never got to see the house inside. Glad our group was just 8. Made it easier all the way around!
Sadly could not give 5 stars. Do not pay premium price for skip the line tickets, as they do not exist, 45 minutes wait in warm sunshine, no side gate for small groups! However our guide Matthew gave us plenty of info about Monet and the garden on the way, trip very comfortable. He gave us some extra time because of the wait. The gardens themselves very picturesque but far too many people to enjoy it. Lots of shuffling around and big coach tour groups who kept stopping for their guides to give them info. I contacted Viator after the trip, they reached out to the tour provider, going to receive a very small token refund in the near future, overall disappointing.
