Visit to Chichicastenango, accommodation at HOTEL MAYAN INN. Terrible hotel, obsolete and even dangerous facilities such as the bathtub, lack of lighting and non-compliance with schedules established by employees. They should not count on this hotel for future travelers. Excellent Gustavo, our guide and I recommend the visit to the town.
There was not anything much different to buy in the market than there is in Antigua. I enjoyed seeing the Mayan temple ruins with the church built atop it.
Thank you for your comments! Chichicastenango market is the largest open-air market in the country, which is why many people go to visit it. We are glad you enjoyed the visit
The tour started very early, our guide Gonzalo and driver David were very nice. We stopped at Katok Restaurant for restroom and coffee break, then we went to Panajachel for a quick lookout of the lake. The market was very interesting, very colorful and so much fun learning about their culture and history. The churches are amazing and we wish we had more time to spend there but otherwise great tour.
Thank you for your comments!! We are very glad you enjoyed your visit to Chichicastenango and the services provided. Hope you visit Guatemala again soon!!
On the plus side; the guide Willie was organized, the driver quite competent and we did visit the market and see the lake. On the minus side, we arrived early at the Barcelo Hotel to meet the tour but when they arrived we were not in the list, and then we drive back to our hotel pick up someone else which was odd. The drive to see Lake Atitlan was interesting but all we did was view it from an overlook and it was foggy; it probably is one of the world’s most beautiful lakes, but we didn’t see that. Also the bathroom there which cost 3 Queztals was disgusting! The Chichicastenago Market was interesting but crowded and hot, and we didn’t stay there to shop as long as scheduled because most members of the group were ready to go home. The lunch was just okay. The main thing to know if considering this tour is that it was 4 hours Each Way in the van. Definitely if you want to see the lake it should be a separate outing.
, beautiful drive, crazy Market, lots of interesting information., our guide Tony, took us to several beautiful locations and many interesting sites.
Thank you for your comments!! We are very glad you enjoyed your visit to Chichicastenango and the services provided. Hope you visit Guatemala again soon!!

This Tour should really just say chichicastenango day trip. Lake atitlan was just a stop at a viewpoint on the way to chichi. We thought it was visiting both. Confusing so that’s why I removed 1 star. Other than that great tour of chichicastenango! The lunch was delicious! tour is thru Clark tours

Great tour. Long day. Lots of traffic can't help that. Might be tough with small kids.

This tour was fantastic. We had an older guy for a guide but he was good. The meal that I had at the Maya Inn, when we went to the market, was by far the best meal I had all over Central America. The market was impressive, with thousands of indigenous folk selling all kinds of beautiful vegetables and fruits. It was really impressive. This tour was really well devised.
