Esta cidade é a capital da província de Cañar, ao passar por ela teremos ótimas vistas da cidade e nosso guia explicará a influência da arquitetura moderna trazida do exterior.
Esta igreja tem um estilo arquitetônico gótico muito característico, que remonta ao final do século XIX. É construído na encosta de uma colina e muitas vezes você vai encontrar moradores subindo a colina íngreme em direção à igreja como uma homenagem à virgem. Em seguida, visitaremos uma família indígena onde observaremos a tecelagem de chapéus panamá. Este é um dos artesanatos mais autênticos do sul do Equador e tem um papel de destaque na economia da região. Continuamos nosso passeio com um passeio pelas encantadoras terras altas, apreciando as belas vistas ao longo do caminho.
Ingapirca é o maior sítio arqueológico inca do Equador. Adoradores do sol construíram este templo-fortaleza no vale de Cañar no século 15. Ele está localizado a aproximadamente 60 milhas a nordeste de Cuenca, a uma altitude de 10.500 pés acima do nível do mar. Aqui encontramos uma das estruturas incas mais importantes, uma plataforma elíptica conhecida como "Templo do Sol" cercada por pátios, terraços e várias outras estruturas. I really enjoyed this visit to Ingapirca and learned so much history about the Cañaris and Incas. The countryside is so beautiful and was a nice comfortable drive, with fun stops along the way. It feels really special to visit the site, and Andrés was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend this day trip, either private or as a shared tour.
