Valerio was the perfect guide to show us a wheelchair accessible Venice.I know right? Venice in a wheelchair... too many bridges! ... it was not a problem, Valerio knew all the best routes, bridges with ramps, how to use the Valparetto, where to buy the tickets for a wheelchair user and carer, a well as a myriad of other tips with insider information only a knowledgeable local would know. His knowledge of the history of Venice was fantastic and delivered in a really friendly engaging way. We had 3 trips booked over 3 days The Doges Palace which was magnificent and exclusive, A day at Murano & Burano as well as a guided tour of St Mark's Basilica. Valerio picked us up from our hotel each day and helped with suggestions of things to see and do on our free days. I cannot recommend Valerio enough as a guide, he is so aware of the challenges and limitations that normally affect us chair users, and offers practical solutions so that you get the best of your trip.
Dear Michelle, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and for your incredibly kind words. You're absolutely right – when people think of Venice and wheelchairs, the first thing that comes to mind is often, "Too many bridges!" I'm so happy that I was able to show you that Venice can still be explored and enjoyed with the right planning, local knowledge, and a flexible approach. It was a real pleasure accompanying you over those three days, from the magnificent Doge's Palace to the colourful islands of Murano and Burano, and finally to the beauty of St Mark's Basilica. I truly enjoyed helping you navigate the city, sharing its history and traditions, and finding practical solutions to make your visit as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Thank you also for mentioning the hotel pick-ups and the tips for your independent explorations. My goal is always to help guests feel confident and comfortable in Venice, especially when accessibility challenges might otherwise seem overwhelming. Your recommendation means a great deal to me. It was wonderful meeting you, and I hope to welcome you back to Venice one day for many more wheelchair adventures! With my warmest regards from Venice, Valerio deTourist
Valerio is a top guide who takes care of everything, even before the tour begins, e.g., wheelchair assistance for the train ride to Venice. A tour in Venice with a wheelchair is indeed possible and also fantastic. I would never have dared to do it alone with my mother, who is over 80 years old. Thanks to Valerio, a heartfelt wish of hers has come true. Absolute recommendation!
Valerio deTourist
Valerio was an excellent guide. He was in contact with us regularly before we met to make sure we understood the time and location of the tour. He provided us with lots of information regarding how wheelchair users can get the best Venice experience. Even after the tour he kept in touch with us by WhatsApp to advise us on best routes etc.
I'm hearing impaired and already did my second tour with Valerio. In 4 hours we walked through Castello to the northwest towards Cannaregio. Valerio is very easy to understand, for an Italian he speaks really good German, also I could read well from his lips. He had even got himself a mask with a viewing window so I could understand him with a mask. He has a very profound historical, political and architectural knowledge and can reproduce it extremely vividly. He also knows about the way of life of people of bygone times and other interesting fringe facts. The 4 hours were extremely entertaining and flew by, always happy again! I love the tours with Valerio as he is very individual and flexible and he is with a lot of heart in the matter.
Danke Doris! Ich freue mich, diese Bewertung zu lesen! Bis bald!
This walking tour was private and very friendly. Genny showed us absolutely different perspectives and paths that only Italians walk thru. Quiet atmosphere, stunning views of Dursodoro: Off the Beaten Track in Venice. The most culminative moment was our short Gondola ride across the Canal by Gritti Hotel. Genny is amazing, kind person who speaks perfectly both languages: English & Italian and fullfils all your wishes.
Nice trip to Venice in alternative places and not beaten by tourists. Stops in some beautiful parks “hidden” of cannareggio where you can stop to let the children play and relax. Great guides nice and kind.
Grazie per aver condiviso la tua esperienza!
