Universalmuseum Joanneum Pass em Graz

Why a good value? First, there are a dozen or so locations included in the pass; seven or so are right in Graz, and many close to each other. Second, if you start your pass at 11am you can still enter a museum at 10:55am on the third day, essentially goving you three days to explore. Of course tastes will vary. I thought the Styrian Armory was amazing, and it doesn't take long. The history museum is also very cool and well presented. The Kunsthaus is a neat building, and while the displays there weren't much to my liking, the cafe and gift shop are both excellent. I also went to the Modern Art Gallery, which was okay. I probably would have preferred the science museum. Schloss Eggenberg is a couple miles from city center and contains a few attractions. The tour of the state rooms was my favorite part, but if you are doing Vienna first this will seem slightly less opulent. There is also art, archaeology, and a coin museum on sight. And some lovely gardens. There are several other sites outside the Graz area I did not see. With two days in Graz, this was a great way to spend my time.

I bought a 24-hour ticket here for €20 and in addition to the Universalmuseum Joanneum I was able to visit the Armoury, the History Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Folklore, the Eggenberg Castle + Gallery and the Archaeological Museum with this ticket. My advice to all visitors to Graz is: If you want to visit all of these places, the 24-hour ticket is a great solution. Otherwise, the individual entrance fees to the individual buildings are around €13. The Universalmuseum Joanneum has several parts. The Natural History Museum exhibits minerals, animals (the “Moving Skeletons” exhibition is very nice), objects from the sea and space and there is a large Relief of Styria. There is also the New Gallery Graz, where you can see paintings by old masters as well as works by painters such as Egon Schiele or Wilhelm Thöny. Temporary exhibitions of modern art are also held here.

Great weekend trip from Wien. Take the train for beautiful views of the Semmering pass. Sit on the left side for the best photos. Lovely historic city with lots to explore. Recommend the Landeszeughaus (Armory) with all the suits of armor and weapons as well as Schloss Eggenberg, both for the park (beware the peacocks) and the state rooms. The Schlossberg is a must. Take the stairs or the foot path up then reward yourself with the cool interior slide back down. The Kunsthaus can be hit or miss since it doesn’t have permanent exhibits. So check what’s currently there before you buy tickets - it’s a bit pricey. Great authentic Styrian food in Franziskanerstraße and also just on the opposite side of the Mur. We stayed in a lovely little apartment near the stadium and only two blocks from the tram stop and a grocery. Perfect for travelers who like to see how the locals live.

The information about which museums are included in this ticket is very ambiguous. In the end, I paid €18 for this ticket and only went to the Kunsthaus for €12 and was supposed to pay extra for the zoo for €21.50. But when I come to Graz, the zoo is apparently included in this ticket. So I paid a total of €27.50 for nothing. Next time I'll get my ticket on site - after all, conditions can always change.

The Universalmuseum Joanneum is a museum complex in the city center of Graz. Entry is free for Graz Card holders, otherwise it costs €11. It is open daily except Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We really liked the interesting and varied exhibition.

A unique experience...it is a beautiful city...we visited too. Vienna and it was wonderful....the trains that run through those cities are amazing...they make everything easy for you...the so-called OBB....punctual and very comfortable...and in Graz there is a voucher for 3 4 days or more and you can use all types of transport in the city...which by the way is a 10 for urban transport...we should learn more things about these countries...a shame

Interesting place structurally and as a space. What you are meant to do inside is a question I could not fathom . Modernistic some modern art installations.

The museum building impresses with its successful combination of modern and history. The exhibition ladies and gentlemen surprises, fascinates, excites and has quite hard times and funny... the fragile feminist we described here can be found in a variety of exciting positions and objects point that have spent almost two hours here without boring us. I took my nephews on a day trip to Graz in adolescence and dragged the poor to the museum. Since I wanted to spare them the fine art, we went to the Natural History Museum. We all liked it - the youth especially the interactive stuff. The collection could be larger, but is sufficient for a short morning. I'm fine.

Has been to the Joanneum several times. Prices are just fine. I would be happy to visit this exhibition (natural history) again! Great setup. More tours during the week would be good. I would like opening hours in the evening hours... For example, until 9 pm!
