Udawalawe Elephant Safari – Experiência privada de jeep de vida selvagem

Best safari in Udawalawe, can’t recommend enough! We were picked up on time from our accommodation and driven into the park where we saw an elephant almost immediately! Our guide was so kind and experienced, and he took the time to show us many different types of animals from the big (elephants including a baby one!, buffalo, crocodiles etc) to the small (eagles, kingfisher, jackals, chameleons, mongoose etc) and knew so many facts about each one! Our driver knew exactly where to go to find all of the animals and it meant we had such a private and special experience. Watching the sunrise with the animals was amazing. We had great conversations and it’s clear how passionate both are about wildlife and conservation. Couldn’t recommend this tour enough, was such a highlight of our trip here!

We had a wonderful experience at Udawalawe National Park this morning! Our guide Lahiru Prasad (‪+94 76 272 6799‬) made it so special and was very knowledgable on where to go to find different animals, making it a very successful trip full of elephants, crocodiles, birds and jackals! We did the sunrise tour which I would highly recommend for seeing as much as possible. The guides were very relaxed and stayed away from animals where possible - although one elephant was very eager to see what food we had in our jeep and came right up to us! We did two tours through and our guide was Shanaka. He was so great the first day, we requested him the second day! He spotted animals so quickly, including many species of birds. Highly recommended! We booked him through Buddika Safari & Resort, also highly recommended!

Incredible safari experience! We loved the tour of the park. Our guide, Lahiru Prasad, was excellent: very punctual, attentive, kind, and always mindful of us. Additionally, he explained everything during the tour and made every effort to ensure we could see as many animals as possible. Thanks to him, we saw crocodiles, elephants, monkeys, and eagles in their natural habitat. The entire tour was very fun, exciting, and well organized from start to finish. Without a doubt, a completely recommendable experience. If you do the safari, request Lahiru as your guide because he made the tour even more special.

We had an amazing full-day private safari with Lahiru Prasad in April and couldn’t recommend him more highly. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and had an amazing eye for spotting wildlife - from the tiniest creatures to the biggest animals. Seeing so many elephants up close was absolutely magical and a real highlight of our trip. The safari vehicle was very comfortable, and Lahiru made the whole experience seamless by arranging our transport from Hiriketiya to Udawalawe, and then onwards to our hotel in the Hill Country afterwards. Very bad experience at this park. I hesitated a lot to do this safari (first time) because I feared the outcome... I should have informed myself more, now I am even ashamed to have participated! We saw a few isolated elephants, a crocodile, some birds, and peacocks! The poor elephants were harassed by the jeeps (and the pollution) because, of course, some people without any scruples wanted to take a photo in front of them... in short, a horror! We told the driver not to stay, but well, 2.5 hours of torture for nothing. I absolutely do not recommend, out of respect for the animals.

Had an amazing safari at Udawalawe with Lahiru Prasad(+94 76 272 6799)! We saw around 50 elephants, plus countless birds and other wildlife. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure I got the best views. Highly recommend him for an unforgettable experience.

It has been a great experience for the whole family. Lot of elephants, crocodilles, water buffalos. Worth of it. Lahiru, thank you!

Really great – Lahiru is a top guy, good humour and excellent wildlife spotter. Picked us up from our accom in Ella and we were at the park entrance right on 6am for early entry at sunrise. Comfortable transit (Toyota HiAce) between Ella and eventually on to Galle, Safari vehicle was a Hilux or something similar – well kitted out with seats ascending in height towards the back, we were just two on our trip but for bigger groups this would be good.
