It was interesting to learn the history of tea, and Britain's importation of it, and the importance of tea in in colonial GB. Alessandra, the instructor/guide was wonderful, and has a real appreciation for tea. I found the information about how each tea was cultivated and prepared to be too detailed. I think the course would be well-geared to someone who has a very distinguishing palate and who really appreciates the differences between a tea with a grassy taste, versus mossy. For me, many of the teas tasted so similar. But I am glad I went and I learned a good amount.

Lovely afternoon learning about and enjoying tea! We learned how tea is harvested and how subtle nuances change the color and flavor of my favorite beverage. If you’re looking for a formal “high tea” with all of the sandwiches and scones and pastries, go somewhere else and drink English Breakfast tea and munch away. (Having said that, I do wish that Twinings gave you a few more biscuits!). As an educational experience, the Master Class was wonderful. It was a small, intimate experience in an historic setting. The master tea class is downstairs. I don’t think that it is accessible by lift, but I might be wrong. On the main level, Twinings does offer free tastings, however.
This one a highlight of my trip to London. One of the Senior Brand Ambassadors (Liam) expertly walked us through the history of tea, providing essential context for the sampling portion. Liam was brilliant, charismatic, passionate, and everything I expected from a premium experience.
This is a delightful small group experience. The presentation takes place in an ultra-modern room in this ancient Twinings location. The host was a gifted talker and the presentation was extremely informative and well put together accompanied by unlimited samplings of six or more teas. The room is airconditioned with nice adjacent bathrooms. After a long day of sightseeing, it was extremely pleasant to sit, relax and be served multiple teas while getting an education on international tea production with a welcome bit of Twining history. What could be more appropriate than a Masterclass in tea tasting in London?
