One day off the beaten track trek from Sa Pa. We were met at our hotel by the wonderful Sinh and walked through Sa Pa and out into the countryside. Sinh told us about his school in the city and pointed out sights as we passed. Once in the countryside we walked through rice fields, vegetable fields, buffalo and villages all the while Singh telling us about rural village life, farming and his home and family. We had a quiet, freshly cooked lunch in the mountains, walked through a bamboo forest and we're taken back to Sa Pa by minibus. In the end we walked about 13 kms with 454m of elevation, just enough for 2 people in their mid 50s. We wanted to trek away from the tourist sites and learn a little about Vietnamese life. This trip was perfect for us. Sinh was a truly wonderful person and we had a magical time, we feel privileged to have had. Highly recommended
We booked a last minute half day tour the same day to Ta Phin and the herbal baths! We were picked up at our hotel and taken to where we started our trek! Our guide Tinh was so lovely and knowledgeable and told us so much about the people and villages that we walked through! We stopped where they dyed fabric, made beeswax batiks and weaved. Had an amazing freshly cooked lunch of either rice or noodles, meat or veggie and spring rolls. We also visited a traditional family in thier home before heading to the herbal baths (extra cost 200/250,000) which were bliss!
We had a great trek through the countryside along with a fun conversation and great lunch. This gave us a look into the culture and the beautiful scenery Thank you!!
The day of my ‘trek’ arrived & it was misty & rainy. Some would say that is not the ‘ideal’ weather - however, if you take that in your stride & enjoy the beauty in that, you’ll still have an amazing time. So if your day turns out like mine did - make sure you’re fit, have good balance, be prepared to get muddy & are in shoes that can deal with the slippery conditions. There are also different routes to take depending on your abilities. So make sure you’re honest with what you can handle. My local guide Mr. Cho was fantastic & very helpful. We had many great conversations throughout the day & he organised a herbal bath at a homestay in Ta Phin for me which I highly recommend. Mr. Tinh who organised the tour was communicative & genuinely cared about my experience too.
The views were very nice. We enjoyed the trek a lot and our guide Chô was informative and entertained our questions well too. He spoke really good English as well.
The views on the hike were amazing and the route we chose was away from the usual touristy spots, so it was also nice and quiet! The guide was helpful and also shared lots of informative tidbits throughout! This trek however isn’t suitable for beginners especially if you don’t have proper footwear so do take this into consideration.
I specificially enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere in and around the rice fields as well as the explanations given by my guide Mo.
Todays trekking trip was amazing. We opted for the more natural scenic walk option and it was well worth it! Our guide was absolutely lovely & provided us with a lot of information about the various villages. The experience really takes you through the more untouched areas of Sapa as we hardly saw any other tourists on our route! Highly recommend!
All excellent, no complaints, suit the pace of each during the ascent, very good lunch, and the best treatment yet. When the trekking ended as our bus back to Hanoi did not leave until 9 pm they offered to let us shower and be at home until we left. In addition, he brought us to the bus station himself at night. A 10/10 we can not be happier and more grateful
Fantastic trek for 6 hours (including lunch). Ms Dinh was amazing. We met lots of hill tribes people and visited all their different villages. Highly recommend if you want an authentic experience with a village guide off the beaten track.
