This day was not as advertised. We elected to select this very expensive trip because we are an elderly couple in our late 80's. We needed to transfer from Milan to Venice with some quite heavy bags to join an extended cruise from Venice. We selected this 1053 Euro trip because it was billed as a hotel to hotel trip with a driver/guide which featured a two hour stop in Verona. We expected our driver/guide to call our attention to interesting sights along the 3 hour drive and accompany us on a guided tour of Verona. When our driver/guide had been silent for a time I asked him to explain what we were seeing and what to expect in Verona. He told us he was not licensed as a guide so unable to show us around. He dropped us off outside the historical heart of Verona to go it on our own. When we arrived at Venice, he explained that we would have to get a water taxi to take us to Venice and we were on our own to locate our hotel. He did engage a porter to heft our luggage to the water taxi for 20 euros and the water taxi for an additional 70 euros! The water taxi driver called our hotel and they sent someone to meet us but it was still a 10 minute walk to our hotel handling the smaller of our bags on our own. We were exhausted! All in all we paid 1143 euros for a trip we could have taken by train for 160 euros first class! A huge waste of money and very disappointing experience. Not we have normally experienced with other tours booked on Viator!
