Joining this tour has been a pleasant surprise by all means. In terms of duration, this 5h journey driven around by experienced guide Giorgi to all historical sites had been invigorating and educational. Giorgi shown me 5 places having soviet-characteristics and each one of them signified a different aspect of how soviet times influenced the style and usage of the buildings, places and monuments involved. On top of that, Giorgi introduced me to 2 historians who manage the places and tell their living story of how they perceive the world around them during soviet rule. It was a huge bonus and added a nice personal touch to the tour. As a person now living in a communist society I’ve learned so much from this experience, including the fun-fact that certain cartoon characters had been banned in my native country! At the end of our trip, Giorgi brought me a nice surprise in the form of a special khachapuri with bean fillings, which was yum x 10 !!!
Irakli was an incredible guide who answered all our questions and showed great knowledge about Georgian history and soviet times. We had fun seeing places we probably wouldn’t have gone to on our own, with striking soviet architecture examples. Loved the style of the tour and everything about it, really recommend!
Thank you for the 5-star review! We are very happy to know you enjoyed the tour with Irakli! We would be happy to see you again soon!
David was a wonderful guide with a lot of cool and relevant background stores about the architecture and how that relates to modern and historic Georgia. Would absolutely recommend!
A fantastic experience that took us to parts of Tbilisi both well-known and lesser-known. Our guide Georgi was very knowledgable and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend to anyone interested in the history of the Soviet Union and how it impacted Georgia in ways big and small.
We had a wonderful time with George. The communication beforehand was very friendly and clear. During the tour George had a constant stream of information and even humored us in looking at things other than the pre planned things. After the tour was done he dropped us off at a place more convenient for the rest of our day. I would recommend George to everyone!
It was a great tour, our tour guide was excellent and we had plenty of time at each stop. We chose the additional stop at the soviet car museum, which had incredible restored cars and bikes. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone interested in Georgia's soviet history
The private tour was so interesting and well organized. My guide, Data, was great. Friendly, fluent in English, informative and kind. Loved it!
