My anticipation for the journey from Hurghada to Cairo was met with mixed feelings and let down right from the beginning. The promise of a Minivan for our travel comfort was the initial letdown, as we were provided with a sedan car instead. This not only affected the spaciousness we expected traveling with a customer, but also raised concerns when the tour operator did not offer any solution when questioned about the change. On a positive note, the guide assigned to us was incredibly helpful and patient in guiding us for the shopping in the market, ensuring our day was as smooth as possible. However, when it came to the rich history of the places we visited, the information provided felt very limited. For a city steeped in history like Cairo, I expected a more comprehensive narrative to truly appreciate the sites. In conclusion, for the price I paid, I was expecting more comfort and value, which I did not receive from this tour.
It was pretty awesome to see the pyramids despite the very early start (2.30am!). Our drivers were fantastic and very professional throughout the whole day. They dealt with the traffic in Cairo very well and we felt safe with them the whole day. Thank you Mohammed and Mahmoud! We visited the Egyptian Museum first which was pretty cool although tired looking, but to be expected as a new one is being built in its stead. The Tutankhamen exhibit was amazing and we enjoyed the exhibits throughout which were rich with history. The pyramids and sphinx were definitely the highlight and it was pretty epic to get to view an ancient wonder of the world in person! Our tour guide could have done with slowing down a bit and we could have done without the visit to the papyrus and the perfume shops but otherwise the buffet lunch was good. Definitely worth the trip!
We started the day with a very early morning. Our driver picked us up at around 2:45am but we thankfully had the opportunity to sleep in the car. Once we were about an hour or so away from Cairo we woke up and took in the sights during the remainder of the drive (it is worth noting that there are several police checkpoints that do take time). Once in Cairo our first stop was the Museum of Egypt and that’s where we met our lovely guide Yasmine - she showed us all the highlights and provided us with some incredible information. It was an amazing place to visit and we are so glad we went with a guide. As a lovely surprise we ended up going on a short boat ride along the Nile which was a well needed chance to cool down! We then popped into the cotton shop which provided an opportunity to buy headscarf’s or T-shirts made from Egyptian cotton. The next stop was to a shop that offers camel and horse riding around the pyramids. This was a cool experience but as a complete beginner with regards to these sorts of animals I did find this experience a little scary! I almost wish there was a chance to ride on a carriage (which some other companies offer). The pyramids and sphinx were unbelievable and truly are a once in a lifetime experience that we will remember forever. We then had a nice buffet at 4pm for lunch which was a well needed break! The final two trips were a bazar and also a papyrus museum which were fairly brief but interesting. Our lovely driver then dropped us home safe and sound after a very long day (about 22 hours)! We had a wonderful trip and would recommend this to anyone but would advise to bring out enough money for the wonderful extras that were on offer :)
I wouldn't choose this tour. We went for private tour so we can take our time because we have a toddler. Tour guide rushed us and we expected to pay for tickets on top but having researched it before and the amount the tour guide asked us was drastically different. He also tried to sneak through the museum without a ticket until the security noticed and he paid them off at the door. So we assume this extra money he asked us for was to pay for his ticket which he clearly didn't purchase. After all the costs of the tickets it came up to way more then the the trip itself was worth. Highly advise going with a tour which include ticket prices. This will still be cheaper then what we spent. He also chose a local restaurant which clearly wasn't equipped for toddlers knowing we bought a toddler the restaurant had no high chairs. Also said they provide infant car seat which they didn't. The saving grace of the whole trip had to be our driver who was very accommodating, lovely man.
Pick up and travel in Cairo was really good. However there are many additional costs to consider:tips, entrance, fees, drinks… We just wanted to have a quick look in the old town of Cairo as we thought that it was included in the Itenary. Our guide proceeded to take us there an show us around for 15 minutes, only to inform us afterwards that it were not included and charged us 200EGP (13$) per person for the small detour. Af the end of the day we easily spend another 100$ on top of the price of these tickets because of many “options” as the guide explained it to us. Apart from that it was a really nice experience and the transportation from A to B was really good and smooth.
We had an amazing trip, the ride from Hurgada to Cairo is pretty long but the car was very comfortable and new, the driver made us feel very safe and we had different stops to go to the toilet and have a drink. We saw all the main attractions and they were soooo worth it. We also want to thank the our guide who was very clear in his explanation and who was always available for any questions we had. It was a day that we will never forget!
Truly exceptional experience! Our private tour of Cairo was amazing, far exceeded our expectations. This was our first trip to Cairo and we were lucky having Mr Nagy as our guide. He was patient, kind, professional and very flexible. His overall knowledge is impressive as he gave us insight into Egyptian history, culture and customs. Thank you Mr Nagy! Worth to mention our drivers that made all the efforts to have a safe trip. Thank you all for this wonderful day!
We had a great time on the highlights tour. hany did a great job in making us laugh on top of providing us with a knowledgeable history of Egypt. This activity really is a highlights tour as you only get around 6 hours in Cairo. The rest of the time you are travelling on a smallish bus, we spent 13 hours on the bus. This was worth the time as this is a once in a lifetime experience for us. The bus is quite small and the roads are very bumpy, traffic can also cause delays but this out of the tour guides hands. I would recommend this tour to groups who would like to see Cairo without investing huge amounts of money as this has very good value for money. I would recommend taking as much bottled water as you can (this can be left on the bus between activities), money in small denominations for further activities and tips, a travel pillow for the bus, a lunch from your hotel. The lunch on the tour is a buffet and you can eat 3 - 4 plates of nice food. Overall a very nice day
I highly recommend taking this trip by plane. We booked less than 2 days in advance, there were almost no tickets left. We had business class seats to go. My name was wrong so I had to buy another ticket at the airport, maybe last seat on the plane. The agency was fair and deducted the amount from the total price agreed, very correct! From there, everything went very smooth. We were expected at the airport in Cairo by our guide Zenab and our driver. We had a private tour just for ourselves. We could go at our own pace. Zenab was a great guide and person. She was very welcoming and did her best to please us at all times. Overall, I totally recommend this travel agency, they are very thrust worthy and will guide you from and back to your hotel entrance. Thank you!!
Our tour to Cairo was a great experience. Especially the boat tour on the Nile and the visit of the pyramids were superbe. Many thanks to our tour guide Omar who was always very competent and polite and responded perfectly to our wishes/needs.
